Job Qualification:
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a mental health focus.
- Valid state licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Kansas, including DEA certification.
- Proven clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider, preferably in an inpatient setting.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with the ability to develop effective treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Dedication to providing patient-centered care with a focus on compassion, empathy, and respect.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest medical advancements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite coverage for inpatient psych facility and address changes in the psychiatric needs of patients during night shifts.
- Chart pertinent clinical observation, evaluations, and treatment of patients in the required time according to facility guidelines.
- Be available to respond to psychiatric emergencies remotely, guiding on-site staff for stabilizing patients.
- Review and approve treatment plans for psychiatric patients.
- Make necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on patient progress and feedback from the on-site care team.
- Maintain open lines of communication with the on-site care team, including nurses, therapists, and other remote healthcare providers.
- Option to perform telemedicine encounter to address change in clinical status of patient.
- Support and follow legal requirements, hospital policy, and procedures, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide services that are in accordance with the state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners.
- Participate in quarterly department meeting for ongoing quality and process improvement.
- Address any patient or family complaints and follow up on patient questionnaire results to improve service delivery.
