Job Qualification:

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a mental health focus.
• Valid state licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Kansas, including DEA certification.
• Proven clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider, preferably in an inpatient setting.
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with the ability to develop effective treatment plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Dedication to providing patient-centered care with a focus on compassion, empathy, and respect.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest medical advancements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite coverage for inpatient psych facility and address changes in the psychiatric needs of patients during night shifts. 
• Chart pertinent clinical observation, evaluations, and treatment of patients in the required time according to facility guidelines.
• Be available to respond to psychiatric emergencies remotely, guiding on-site staff for stabilizing patients.
• Review and approve treatment plans for psychiatric patients. 
• Make necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on patient progress and feedback from the on-site care team.
• Maintain open lines of communication with the on-site care team, including nurses, therapists, and other remote healthcare providers.
• Option to perform telemedicine encounter to address change in clinical status of patient.
• Support and follow legal requirements, hospital policy, and procedures, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide services that are in accordance with the state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners.
• Participate in quarterly department meeting for ongoing quality and process improvement.
• Address any patient or family complaints and follow up on patient questionnaire results to improve service delivery.
