Electrical Engineer Intern (Summer 2026)

Los Angeles, CA

Job Title: Electrical Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

Location: Los Angeles, CA (in-person)

Job Type: Full Time (W-2)

Overview:

Half the world still doesn’t have stable Internet – want to play a critical role in changing that? Beamlink builds entire cellular networks in a matter of weeks, not years. These are built of easy-to-set-up cells, called Bentocells, which address the historic bottleneck preventing carriers from expanding beyond cities. Our dynamic engineering team designs these in-house and the firmware, software, and network architectures that make them run.

Role Description: We are looking for an Electrical Engineering undergraduate or graduate student to join us as a Summer Intern in Summer 2026. You will play an integral role in the development of the Bentocell. We’re open to spectacular interns continuing on with us after the summer is over.

  • Write and debug firmware for embedded devices, including I2C and other common communication protocols
  • Support electrical testing and debugging of new hardware prototypes in a lab environment
  • Assist engineers with bench testing using equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies
  • Help document test procedures, results, and design changes
  • Attend and participate in design reviews

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Coursework or hands-on experience with circuit design and basic electronics principles

  • Ability to use PCB design tools, preferably Altium Designer and Altium 365 (for collaboration)
  • Basic programming experience in Bash and Python, with an interest in embedded systems
  • Ability to manage code in GitHub (making commits, pull requests, and managing coding assistants)
  • Familiarity with common communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, or UART
  • Understanding of the PCB manufacturing process
  • Ability to debug digital electronic circuits
  • Familiarity with lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers
  • Ability to solder and hot-air rework

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to create and edit electronic library components
  • Experience with firmware development or embedded systems through coursework or a personal project
  • Interest in RF, wireless communications, or cellular systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical documentation and datasheets

Salary/Benefits:

  • Salary: $35 to $45 per hour, depending on experience
  • Flexible work schedule, such as working from home on certain days
