Job Summary:
On-Premise Market Development Manager for BeatBox Beverages is responsible for growing BeatBox sales and distribution within targeted account. The position is responsible for managing both the relationships with their retailers and their wholesalers’ contacts. They must have on-premises experience and an understanding of competitive, and overall alcohol beverage strategies. The candidate’s knowledge of these strategies will aid in utilizing market data to help build "win/win" selling stories and to identify solutions & opportunities for growth. You must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and a good collaborator who is committed to the success of our business, as well as our customers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but is subject to change.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own and build relationships with retailers and wholesaler partners.
- Grow sales and distribution within targeted account base.
- Manage relationships with wholesaler partners and maintain active communications to ensure excellent execution.
- Required to execute 40 account calls per week.
- Utilize customer sales and syndicated data to uncover opportunities, track KPI performance, and provide fact-based analysis for your business.
- Clearly and concisely communicate sales results to BeatBox Beverages sales team and distributor networks to ensure execution.
- Able to work cross functionally with field sales, trade marketing, and category management.
- Align BeatBox plans with customer plans and own all relevant goals.
- Conduct regular buyer meetings to communicate strategy and recommend retailer opportunities.
- Manage travel and expense budget.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven history in building good relationships with retail customers, internal associates, and wholesalers.
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative to gather and use customer feedback to identify customer and market needs and challenges.
- Demonstrated diligence and ability to follow through on all commitments.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve performance goals with a minimum of direction.
- Proven analytical skills and an understanding of syndicated data and interpreting data to aid in sales calls.
- Travel and a valid driver's license & vehicle are required.
- Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 50%.
Education/Experience:
- 5+ years working in the alcohol on premise channel required.
- Wholesaler experience preferred.
- Ability to understand and leverage analytics required.
- Knowledge of syndicated data systems (IRI) preferred.
- Excellent people skills, oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Candidates for this role must live in New York City.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
