Job Description

Title: Associate General Counsel 

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Department: Legal

Reports to: SVP of Legal

Date: 1/2025

Salary: $150,000-175,000 + bonus

Job Summary:

BeatBox Beverages is a fun, fast-growing supplier of RTD alcoholic beverages, seeking a skilled attorney with extensive experience in contract review, risk mitigation, insurance, intellectual property, supply chain and route to market strategy, and other aspects of corporate law to join our in-house legal team. The ideal candidate will be hard working, personable, solution oriented, motivated and able to work independently in a largely remote environment, and capable of managing a diverse and fast-moving workload.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• This position does not currently have direct supervisory responsibilities but is subject to change as the department continues to grow. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Meticulously review contracts, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders, to ensure compliance with legal requirements and strengthen business points.
• Draft and update policies and procedures with a keen emphasis on risk mitigation, legal compliance, and usability.
• Manage IP strategy and execution, including registrations, internal compliance, and enforcement.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on insurance matters.
• Identify and assess legal risks then collaborate on strategies to mitigate effectively.

Desired Skills/Abilities: 

• Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and remotely.
• Ability to manage diverse array of legal responsibilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with non-attorneys.
• Knowledge of in-house legal issues and systems.
• Strong understanding of legal and strategic issues concerning supply chain, route to market, insurance, intellectual property, and miscellaneous commercial contracts. 

Education/Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal role.
• Experience with in-house or corporate legal matters.
• Strong experience with contract review.
• Law degree and bar admission in good standing.
• Knowledge and experience in the alcohol industry strongly preferred. 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
