Research Manager
Are you fascinated by fast-growing UK companies and their impact on the economy? Do you love turning data into stories that shape how clients understand the business landscape? If so, you’ll be the perfect fit for our Research & Consultancy team.
We’ve been producing cutting-edge reports on the UK’s most exciting businesses and the ecosystem that supports them for years — and they’ve been going brilliantly. But we know there is so much more we can do. That’s where you come in.
About Beauhurst
We are building the leading provider of private company data in Europe.
Private companies represent 80% of private sector employment and over 90% of revenues across Europe. They are the backbone of our economy – creating jobs, driving innovation, and generating the tax receipts that enable government services. Yet finding, collecting, and understanding information about private companies remains a significant challenge.
We bridge this gap by providing our customers with comprehensive, up-to-date private company information. Our online platforms and API help our clients to discover, track and understand these companies. This empowers them to take informed action, whether they're offering services or funding to help companies grow, crafting supportive policies, or making better decisions through deeper understanding of the economic landscape.
We work with venture capital firms, big financial institutions, leading universities and the Government to help them find and work with companies that drive disruption and innovation across the economy.
The Role
Our Research and Consultancy team uses Beauhurst data to provide bespoke projects for our clients, helping them to understand the UK’s private company landscape and the ecosystem that surrounds it — you can find some examples here.
As a Research Manager, you’ll take the lead on delivering high-quality research projects, from shaping briefs and coordinating delivery, to ensuring every report is accurate and insightful. Your publications will be widely distributed and cover the most cutting-edge topics (many of which you will propose yourself!).
Quick disclaimer: This is not scientific research or management consultancy, but blends some great aspects of both!
Day-to day, your responsibilities will include:
Project management: Overseeing multiple research projects at once — managing timelines, coordinating workloads and ensuring everything stays on track.
Building relationships: Maintaining regular contact with clients to keep projects moving, acting as a key point of contact and ensuring we meet (and exceed!) expectations.
Research & data analysis: Using a combination of our platform’s extensive data and your own market research to collect, interpret and analyse data for your projects.
Content creation & editing: Helping to write, refine and shape written reports to make sure they’re clear, accurate and beautifully presented.
People management: Overseeing the development of direct reports, helping them deliver high-quality content and supporting them to work independently and confidently.
About you
We’re looking for a Research Manager with at least 3 years relevant experience, who’s confident in managing projects, guiding people and ensuring outputs are top-quality.
Ideally, you’ll be:
- A natural people person: You find it easy to get on with all sorts of people and like the idea of working collaboratively across teams and with clients.
- Proactive and organised: You hold yourself to high standards, are confident in managing multiple projects at once and find excitement in improving how things are done.
- Analytical: You like working with data and can take meaning from the numbers.
Also, it’d be helpful if you were:
- Interested in the economy: you keep up to date on the latest developments already. This will be super helpful when spotting your next opportunity to run a project!
