OVERVIEW
The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's public cloud infrastructure and on-premises systems. This role ensures the stability, security, and optimal performance of IT infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will handle system administration, infrastructure management, assist with security protocols, storage solutions, backup and recovery processes, and capacity and resource planning. Effective documentation, collaboration, and communication are critical for success in this role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and maintain servers (Windows and Linux).
- Oversee virtualization technologies (Azure, Azure Stack HCI, Azure Local, VMware).
- Utilize Azure Cloud Technologies (Azure Arc, Azure Virtual Desktops).
- Implement and manage storage technologies (NAS, SAN, Disks).
- Utilize Azure Files for storage solutions.
- Manage backup solutions.
- Support collaboration tools such as Teams, Exchange (Email), SharePoint, and Zoom.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure administration or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong knowledge of modern hybrid infrastructure technologies (Azure Stack HCI, Azure Local).
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Solid understanding of system administration, including Linux and Windows servers.
- Familiarity with storage management solutions and best practices (NAS, SAN).
- Experience in backup and recovery planning and execution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of networking principles to assist with incident troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Advanced certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
- Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Basic networking knowledge preferred.
- Manage DHCP and certificate management preferred.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and Terraform or Bicep preferred.
- Experience overseeing patch management preferred.
- Strong documentation skills.
The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$135,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
