Build Your Career in Residential Electrical Work

Bell Brothers is hiring an Electrical Installation Apprentice who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and ready to build a long-term career in the electrical trade.

Working under an Electrical Lead Installer, you'll contribute to residential installation projects while developing your technical knowledge, workmanship, and field experience. This is a hands-on development role, not simply a general labor or helper position. As you demonstrate competency, you'll take on more complex work and build toward becoming an independently capable residential electrician and, ultimately, a Lead Installer.

How We Work

At Bell Brothers, professional installation work means working safely, respecting the homeowner's property, and being accountable to your crew. You'll help keep jobsites organized, protect work areas, and communicate professionally while working in occupied homes.

Learning is part of the job. You'll receive coaching from Lead Installers, Field Supervisors, and Electrical leadership, and you'll be expected to ask questions, apply feedback, and show progress. When a task, installation method, or electrical condition is unclear, we expect you to seek direction rather than guess.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with residential projects such as main panel replacements, service upgrades, subpanels, rewires, device replacements, dedicated circuits, and electrical work supporting other trades.
  • Install wiring, devices, electrical boxes, raceways, breakers, lighting, equipment, and grounding and bonding components as assigned.
  • Perform tasks within your demonstrated skill level and under the direction of the Electrical Lead Installer.
  • Help with demolition, preparation, layout, material staging, equipment installation, testing, and project closeout.
  • Follow the approved job scope, applicable electrical codes, manufacturer requirements, and company installation standards.
  • Keep tools and materials organized, help identify material needs, and maintain clean, safe work areas.
  • Protect the homeowner's property through floor protection, work-area preparation, cleanup, and restoration coordination.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, testing equipment, and personal protective equipment safely.
  • Assist with testing, labeling, documentation, photographs, and assigned mobile-technology tasks.
  • Participate in field coaching and technical development, taking on greater responsibility as your skills progress.
  • Maintain assigned tools, company-issued equipment, and installation vehicles when applicable.

What You'll Bring

You may be an Electrical Trainee, a trade-school graduate, an apprenticeship participant or graduate building field experience, or someone with residential installation experience who has not yet obtained California Residential Electrician Certification.

Required qualifications:

  • Current California Electrical Trainee registration or other qualifying apprenticeship status when required under California requirements.
  • Willingness to learn residential installation methods, electrical codes, and company standards.
  • Dependability, punctuality, attention to detail, and willingness to accept coaching.
  • Ability to follow instructions and contribute to a two-person or multi-person installation crew.
  • Professional conduct and customer-service awareness when working in occupied homes.
  • Ability to use ServiceTitan or other mobile technology for assigned responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform physical installation work, including lifting up to 50 pounds and tasks requiring manual dexterity.

Helpful, but not required:

  • Electrical trade-school education, apprenticeship participation, or residential electrical field experience.
  • Basic understanding of electrical tools, materials, wiring methods, and residential systems.
  • Previous construction experience.

Training and Benefits

You'll receive on-the-job training and field coaching to help you develop your skills, with advancement opportunities as your capabilities grow.

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid vacation and holidays
