
Automotive Advanced Express Technician

Position Overview:
As an Advanced Express Technician, you will perform routine maintenance as well as light mechanical repairs, inspections, and entry-level diagnostic work. Responsibilities may include oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, alignments, battery replacement, fluid services, and other minor repairs.
You will work closely with service advisors and experienced technicians to identify vehicle needs, make accurate recommendations, and ensure every repair meets dealership and manufacturer standards. This role offers continued hands-on training and a clear path toward becoming a full-line technician.
What You’ll Do:
- Complete maintenance and repair orders efficiently and according to dealership and manufacturer standards
- Perform oil and filter changes, tire rotations, fluid services, and other scheduled maintenance
- Inspect tires for wear or damage and perform tire mounting, balancing, repair, and replacement
- Perform brake inspections and replace brake pads, rotors, and related components
- Complete wheel alignments and identify basic steering or suspension concerns
- Test and replace batteries and perform basic electrical system checks
- Replace filters, bulbs, belts, hoses, wiper blades, and other minor components
- Perform comprehensive multipoint vehicle inspections
- Identify additional maintenance and repair needs and clearly document all findings
- Conduct basic diagnostic testing and assist with troubleshooting vehicle concerns
- Provide accurate labor and time estimates for recommended repairs
- Communicate mechanical findings clearly to service advisors
- Road-test vehicles when appropriate to verify repairs and vehicle performance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Participate in technical training to stay current with changing vehicle technology
- Follow all dealership safety procedures and quality-control standards
Who You Are:
- You have previous automotive maintenance or express-service experience
- You have a working knowledge of brakes, tires, alignments, batteries, and routine vehicle maintenance
- You are ready to expand your skills beyond basic oil changes and tire rotations

Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a favorable motor vehicle record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform the physical duties required in an automotive shop environment
