ABOUT THE DIGITECH TEAM

Our Gaming, Digital Entertainment and Emerging Tech division, known as the DigiTech team, has been growing steadily over the past three years and sits within our rapidly expanding Tech & Innovation practice. While our roots are in gaming and digital media, our work has evolved to include some of the most future-facing sectors in tech, including AI infrastructure, chips, and 3D simulation. We work across both B2B and B2C, partnering with early-stage startups and established innovators alike. This role falls under the emerging tech side of our team, supporting clients at the cutting edge of AI and computing. Across our work, we specialize in building thoughtful, tailored PR strategies that help brands grow, differentiate, and lead in a fast-moving landscape where technology, creativity, and culture converge.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We’re hiring an Account Director to lead strategic communications across a focused group of businesses driving innovation in AI, computing infrastructure, and 3D technology. This role requires deep subject matter expertise in AI hardware, inference, semiconductors, robotics, and/or quantum computing, paired with a strong foundation in corporate communications and executive visibility.

The right candidate brings a proven ability to shape long-term narrative strategy, elevate executive profiles, and lead proactive storytelling across business and tech media. They have a strong global perspective and a clear understanding of the economic and geopolitical dynamics influencing the business of AI and advanced tech. Strong relationships with conference and award organizers are essential, along with a track record of securing high-profile speaking opportunities — from TED Talks and global summits to top-tier industry stages. This is a senior-level role for someone who brings both strategic depth and executional excellence, can pivot quickly in response to the media and industry landscape, and will collaborate closely with the EVP to drive high-visibility work forward.

Role location: This role is available only to candidates based remotely in Los Angeles or in New York, where in-office attendance is required three days a week.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

As an Account Director, AI & Deep Tech PR on the DigiTech team, you will:

  • Lead strategic communications programs across corporate reputation, executive visibility, and earned media
  • Develop and refine executive narratives, messaging, and positioning that reflect both long-term vision and market realities
  • Ideate and develop high-quality content, including bylines, LinkedIn posts, POVs, executive thought leadership pieces, and conference talk tracks
  • Build and manage high-impact media relationships, securing consistent coverage across top-tier business and tech outlets
  • Identify and pitch earned opportunities in response to both planned announcements and timely news cycles
  • Drive strategy and execution for awards, conferences, and high-profile speaking engagements, including partner and organizer relations
  • Translate complex technologies into compelling, credible storytelling tailored to business, investor, and innovation audiences
  • Monitor the AI and deep tech news landscape, including global policy, market shifts, funding trends, and economic implications, and use that context to shape strategies and recommendations and provide informed counsel to clients
  • Oversee strategy across earned, owned, and paid channels in close collaboration with our social and SEO teams
  • Collaborate closely with EVP to drive forward high-impact, high-trust PR programs

 Essential skills:

  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience at a PR agency is required, with a demonstrated ability to lead complex, high-stakes communications programs
  • Deep subject matter expertise in AI infrastructure, chips, robotics, 3D, and/or quantum computing. This role requires someone with fluency in the space and a strong grasp of the technology, trends, and players shaping it
  • Prior experience working with early-stage tech startups, ideally in the AI space, with an understanding of the unique communications challenges and opportunities at the founder-led, pre-scale stage
  • A strong network of media relationships and a proven track record of personally securing top-tier coverage across business and tech press
  • Well-established relationships with conference and award organizers, and experience landing high-profile speaking opportunities at major events
  • Experience developing thought leadership platforms, including sourcing timely topics, building strong POVs, and writing or shaping talk tracks and bylines
  • Excellent writing, positioning, and messaging skills — able to translate complex technologies into clear, compelling narratives for a range of business audiences
  • Prior experience collaborating across integrated communications programs, including partnerships with social and SEO teams to ensure alignment across earned, owned, and paid
  • A calm, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to think quickly, guide clients and the internal team confidently, and adapt in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong team leadership skills, with the ability to manage day-to-day execution while remaining hands-on and detail-oriented
