Systems Integration Engineer – Advanced Concepts

The Systems Integration Engineer will own aircraft interface definition and integration closure across the aircraft configuration, including focused responsibility for high-lift system integration. The role connects requirements, physical interfaces, operating logic, and verification across disciplines and partner boundaries. This position will be based onsite at our South Burlington, VT office location, our Raleigh, NC office. Remote candidates may be considered for a hybrid role, with monthly visits to South Burlington, VT for in person work.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Develop and maintain interface-control documents, interface requirements, ownership, assumptions, open items, and verification methods
  • ntegrate mechanical, electrical, software, controls, data, loads, thermal, environmental, and installation interfaces across aircraft systems
  • Coordinate high-lift interfaces among aerodynamics, mechanisms, actuation, structure, flight controls, indication, safety, and test
  • Manage partner-facing interface definition and technical closure with counterparts and other suppliers
  • Identify integration conflicts early through architecture reviews, packaging studies, operating-mode analysis, and interface working sessions
  • Support configuration trades, integration planning, verification planning, and technical risk closure
  • Document decisions and ensure interface changes propagate through requirements and product definition

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Three or more years of aircraft systems integration, interface engineering, installation, requirements, or verification experience
  • Experience developing and controlling multidisciplinary interface requirements or ICDs
  • Ability to resolve ambiguous cross-functional issues and drive owners to documented closure
  • Working knowledge of aircraft mechanical, electrical, controls, avionics, and structural interfaces
  • Must be a US Person to be considered for the role

Above and Beyond Qualifications:

  • Transport-aircraft, propulsion-integration, high-lift, flight-controls, avionics, or complex supplier-interface experience
  • Experience with requirements tools, model-based systems engineering, configuration management, or integration test
  • Experience supporting prototype aircraft through design, build, ground test, or flight test

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This role requires extended computer work and regular work around aircraft, laboratories, hangars, and integration-test environments. Occasional travel and use of standard personal protective equipment may be required.

The wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role. We pay competitively and base compensation on a variety of factors including skills, experience, industry background, and the evolving needs of the role. Compensation

$105,000 - $125,000 USD
