Technical Compliance Officer - Italy

Betsson Group is looking for a Technical Compliance Officer to join our Legal & Compliance team supporting the Italian market.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, regulation and business. You will help ensure that our Italian online gambling products, platforms and tecnical processes meet the requirements set by Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM), SOGEI and other applicable regulatory standards.

You will work closely with our Product, Technology, Commercial, Legal and Compliance teams, helping turn regulatory requirements into practical solutions and making sure compliance is considered throughout the product development and change process.

We are looking for someone who understands technology and regulatory requirements and can connect the two in a practical and business-oriented way.

 

A taster of what you will be involved with:

• Monitor and understand technical regulatory requirements applicable to the Italian market.
• Work with Product and Technology teams to ensure that new products, features and system changes meet applicable compliance requirements.
• Translate regulatory and technical requirements from ADM and SOGEI into clear and practical actions for internal teams.
• Review proposed technical solutions and identify potential compliance gaps or risks.
• Support technical certifications, audits, regulatory assessments and platform changes.
• Help manage technical compliance activities related to system integrations, migrations, connectivity and regulatory requirements.
• Keep internal documentation and compliance requirements up to date.
• Work with Legal & Compliance colleagues to identify, investigate and resolve compliance issues and technical findings.
• Support the preparation of information, reports and documentation requested by ADM, SOGEI, auditors and other external stakeholders.
• Work closely with the Italian Commercial and Product teams to ensure that business initiatives are delivered in a compliant and practical way.
• Execute directives cascaded by the direct manager and the wider senior management, with accuracy and diligence, while maintaining proactive and regular engagement, to ensure ongoing alignment with evolving business objectives and strategic priorities. 
• Promptly escalate critical risks to ensure executive visibility and informed decision-making.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of relevant ISO and other technical compliance standards.
• Identify potential technical compliance risks and help define appropriate solutions and mitigation actions.
• Keep up to date with regulatory developments and assess their impact on our products and systems.
• Contribute to improving our technical compliance processes and promoting a strong compliance culture across the organisation.

 

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a practical, curious and solution-oriented compliance professional who is comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams.

You should have:

• At least 2+ years of experience in technical compliance, regulatory technology or a similar role, preferably within the iGaming industry.
• Experience or understanding of the Italian regulated gambling market.
• Understanding of how regulatory requirements are implemented within technology, systems and products.
• The ability to understand technical concepts and communicate effectively with developers, engineers, Product teams and other technical stakeholders.
• The ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear and practical business actions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Italian – Fluent.
• English – excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Nice to have:

It would be a plus if you have:

• Experience working directly with ADM and/or SOGEI.
• Experience supporting regulatory or technical audits.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, ISO 9001, PCI DSS or similar standards.
• Experience with regulatory reporting or technical regulatory submissions.
