Graphic Designer, Multimedia and Graphics (Part-Time Contract)

As a Designer, Multimedia and Graphics (Part-Time Contract) at BetterHelp, you’ll join a diverse team of licensed clinicians, engineers, product pros, creatives, marketers, and business leaders who share a passion for expanding access to therapy. What are we looking for?

We’re looking for an experienced designer and creative thinker to provide part-time support to our small and mighty in-house creative team – especially during major campaigns. You have broad experience designing for every channel, purpose, and medium – all while maintaining brand style guidelines. 

What will you do? 

• Support with day-to-day graphic design requests.
• Collaborate closely with our staff designers and creative director to tackle creative requests from across the organization.
• Study and follow BetterHelp brand guidelines to create a consistent brand image while also innovating within the guidelines to create unique new graphic and typographic designs.
• Provide basic post-production edits on influencer video content (trimming, resizing, graphic overlays, etc). 
• Design and resize digital banner ads in varying formats for our partnership sites.
• Support with illustration design for static and motion posts, Reels, and carousels on social platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn).
• Assorted other design requests based on team priorities.

• You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
• You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
• You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
• You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.

Can I work remotely?

Yes. We operate in Pacific Time and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. 

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience with the Adobe Suite – specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and InDesign
• 3-5 years experience cutting and editing videos
• Strong understanding of color theory 
• Creative eye and intuition for visually appealing graphics
• Experience styling fonts and layouts
• Ability to illustrate diverse human figures and objects in the BetterHelp style using procreate or similar software that has tools to add a handcrafted touch to art 
• Strong sense for trending design styles
• Ability to dedicate consistent weekly hours to the role on a mutually agreed upon schedule.
• Friendly, open-minded collaborator who is excited to be an extension of our existing team!
• Ability to work 20/hrs per week

The is a remote part-time, 20-hour-per-week contract role with a duration of six months ($35 - $40/hr)
