Job Title: OIC Enrolled Agent / Tax Resolution Specialist
Location: This position is onsite in Irvine, CA.
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay Range: $70,000-85,000 per year based on experience, qualifications, and skillset with potential opportunity for bonuses
Position Overview:
As an Enrolled Agent - Tax Resolution Specialist, you will play a crucial role in making a real difference for clients facing significant tax debts and IRS actions. Your expertise will be key in negotiating Offers in Compromise (OICs) and advocating for clients before Revenue Officers (ROs) to secure the best outcomes. You'll engage closely with clients to understand their financial situations, analyze tax liabilities, and craft tailored strategies. Key Responsibilities:
The Enrolled Agent - Tax Resolution Specialist must be able to perform the following tasks:
Offer in Compromise (OIC) Negotiations:
- Conduct thorough financial analyses to determine client's ability to pay and eligibility for an OIC.
- Prepare and submit OIC applications to the IRS, advocating for the most favorable settlement terms.
- Communicate with IRS representatives to negotiate the OIC, address any concerns, and secure approval.
- Monitor the OIC process and respond to any IRS requests for additional information or documentation.
Representation of Taxpayers (ROs):
- Represent clients during IRS audits, collections, and other tax-related proceedings.
- Communicate with IRS agents on behalf of clients, protecting their rights and interests.
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation, including power of attorney forms, written responses, and supporting evidence.
- Negotiate with the IRS to resolve tax liabilities, secure payment plans, or obtain other favorable outcomes.
Compliance and Continuous Learning:
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws, IRS policies, and procedures that impact tax resolution strategies.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of Enrolled Agent requirements and ensure continued compliance with all regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your expertise and provide the highest quality of service to clients.
Required Qualifications:
The Enrolled Agent - Tax Resolution Specialist must have the following experiences:
- Enrolled Agent (EA) certification, with a strong focus on tax resolution.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in tax resolution, with a proven track record of successful OIC negotiations and IRS representation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for clients.
- Proficient in financial analysis, tax preparation, and IRS compliance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple client cases simultaneously.
- Commitment to providing exceptional client service and achieving the best possible outcomes.
