About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to design and enforce policies and procedures that protect our organization's computing infrastructure from all forms of security breaches. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities and working with our IT department to resolve them, ensuring that our network and data remains secure. To be successful as a Lead Cybersecurity Engineer, you should have expert analytical skills and an in-depth knowledge of best practices to prevent a wide range of security threats. Top candidates will also be excellent communicators, able to train and educate our staff in various information security topics.
We’re a Chicago-based company looking for candidates willing to come into our downtown office 2-3 days a week. What You'll Do
- Design, deploy and maintain a security suite of tools for resiliency and visibility.
- Work cross functionally with teams to deploy security solutions and processes that support a Zero Trust Architecture.
- Identify vulnerabilities and security improvements in our current network and cloud infrastructure and environment.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to secure our Cloud and SaaS environments.
- Monitor Services to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Keeping up to date with developments in IT security standards and threat landscape.
- Perform red team and blue team security activities to enhance security posture.
- Collaborate with management and the IT department to improve security in cloud and SaaS
- Document any security breaches and assessing their damage as per Incident Response scenarios.
- Educate colleagues about security software and best practices for information security.
- Drive security initiatives to completion.
- Keep up with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to ensure proactive defense mechanisms.
- Lead incident response efforts, conduct post-incident analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior security team members, fostering their professional growth and skills development.
What We Look For
- 7+ years of professional information security experience
- Experience leading teams and projects, providing mentorship to engineers, and can lift roadblocks.
- You have a birds-eye-view perspective and can identify gaps for security posture.
- Degree in Computer Science or extensive experience in a related technology field.
- Professional information security certification.
- You have a strong desire to continually learn about new technologies.
- Strong bias for action, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of AWS cloud security principles.
- You are a demonstrated leader with team-oriented interpersonal skills and the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles
- Strong Security Architecture and Operational experience.
- Executive Presence.
- Cross Domain IT experience.
- Solid knowledge of various information security frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
