About the Role

As a Staff Accountant, you will be an essential member of the finance organization. This position requires someone with meticulous attention to detail, the highest ethical standards, and the ability to clearly communicate financial information to individuals across various departments. This role requires a solid foundation in U.S. GAAP and a passion for financial operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change; work effectively within cross-functional teams; be highly resourceful and deliver under tight deadlines.

What You'll Do

  • Process, verify, and reconcile invoices and initiate vendor payments (100-200/week)
  • Record, reconcile and monitor corporate credit card transactions and assist in managing the corporate credit card program
  • Audit employee expense reports including verification to company policies and validating supporting documentation
  • Record cash transactions in the general ledger
  • Monthly bank reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolutions
  • Record prepaid assets
  • Record journal entries for assigned areas
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
  • Perform regular analysis and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Conduct monthly income statement trend analysis for assigned accounts
  • Facilitate strong working relationships with other teams to ensure accurate & timely accounting
  • Coordinate with outside auditors and provides needed information for annual external audit
  • Monitor compliance with accounting controls and policies
  • Support the department with special projects and process improvements
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s (B.A. / B.S.) in accounting, finance, or other related discipline preferred
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in accounting and finance operations
  • Have a strong understanding of accounting standards (U.S. GAAP)
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate level in Excel
