Position Overview  

 

The Associate Art Director supports the development and execution of creative concepts and visual designs across various platforms and media. Working under the guidance of an Art Director or Art Supervisor, the Associate Art Director brings ideas to life through high-quality, on-brand creative assets that align with the client’s goals and regulatory requirements. This is a collaborative, hands-on role ideal for a passionate designer looking to grow in the pharmaceutical advertising space. 

 

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the development of creative concepts and visual designs across digital, print, and social platforms 
  • Support the Art Director and Creative team in executing high-quality, brand-consistent deliverables 
  • Translate strategic direction and brand guidelines into compelling visual solutions 
  • Collaborate with Copywriters, Medical, and Account teams to bring campaigns and tactics to life 
  • Participate in internal reviews and clearly communicate design rationale 
  • Maintain attention to detail in layout, typography, and production readiness 
  • Contribute to design research and reference gathering for pitches and creative inspiration 
  • Help ensure that all creative work meets regulatory, medical, and brand standards 
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices relevant to the healthcare space 
  • Adapt quickly to feedback and revise work as needed under tight deadlines 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts or related degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field 
  • 1–3 years of design experience, ideally in a healthcare advertising or agency setting 
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating solid design, typography, and layout skills 
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) 
  • Familiarity with Figma, PowerPoint, and AI tools is a plus 
  • Understanding of both digital and print production processes 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines 
  • Interest in pharmaceutical marketing and willingness to learn industry-specific regulations 
  • Eagerness to collaborate, take direction, and grow within a creative team 

 

Salary range: $65,000 - 75,000 CAD

 

The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
