Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company
Join us as a Senior Manager on our developer platform, where you'll play a pivotal role in crafting the future of fintech and developer experience . You will lead a talented team with large growth opportunities, driving the deployment of our AP and AR product and creating scalable integrations between many of our external developers and partners. Our team is going to be working in green field services and automations to create seamless developer experiences.. Your leadership will directly contribute to creating simpler, more efficient financial solutions, impacting over 1% of the U.S. GDP and saving our customers invaluable time and effort. - ISV that are incorporating BILL as-a-service to grow their business and revenue
- Mid Market Companies and Wealth Management firms that are developing custom integrations through the Bill.com Platform and leveraging Bill.com as a payments platform.
- Strategic bank partners that are enabling their mid-market customers to develop custom integrations through the Bill.com embed Platform.
- Fintech companies who are looking to providing payment services with business automation workflows
- Accounting companies looking to simplify and provide integrated business automation workflows.
We will expand on these platform initiatives by providing developer sdk, improved API’s, and embeddable UI experiences . The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading these functions for a developer platform for a cloud-based offering.
In this role you will
- Build a Scalable Developer Platform: Design and deliver a robust developer platform that drives BILL’s growth by accelerating development and enabling scalable solutions.
- Drive API Strategy: Partner with Product to shape and execute our API strategy, optimizing platform capabilities to meet evolving business needs.
- Mentor and Develop Talent: Coach and support team members, many at mid or early stages of their careers, helping them grow into skilled, confident engineers.
- Engage Cross-Functionally with Leadership: Collaborate closely with senior leaders and executives across Product, Sales, Customer Support, Engineering, and Talent Acquisition to align on key objectives and ensure platform success.
- Act as an External Ambassador: Represent BILL at developer conferences, sharing insights and fostering relationships that support the developer ecosystem.
- Promote Innovation through Hackathons: Organize and lead hackathons to showcase the BILL platform, sparking new third-party solutions and driving platform adoption.
We’d love to chat if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10-13 years of experience in software engineering in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Python, Elixir, Go)
- 3-5 years people mgmt and engineering management experience
- 5+ years in technical roles with platforms, tools, Launching and scaling API end to end at scale
- In depth knowledge of unit and automation testing
- Expertise in building and maintaining large-scale, high-volume, high-availability, low-latency systems.
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Hands-on experience developing and delivering custom integrations
- Experience working directly with sales teams and executives from strategic partners
- Ability to mentor and guide other engineers in best practices and advanced technical concepts.
- Familiarity with continuous deployment.
- Track record of delivering projects/deliverables in a timely fashion in a fast-paced, lean and collaborative environment.
Nice to have: Experience with Kafka, Flink, or other related event systems and event system designs.
The estimated salary range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.
San Jose pay range
$204,000 - $255,000 USD
