Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

BILL is seeking a strategic platform product leader to help drive the development and growth of our enterprise-wide Risk platform, which includes Fraud, Credit, Underwriting, and Compliance, as part of a broader Payments platform. This role will be key to ensuring the safety, security, and growth of our ecosystem while empowering SMBs to thrive in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.

As the Director of Product, you’ll lead a dedicated team to:

  1. Protect Customers and Build Trust: Focus on safeguarding customers from fraud and other risks while maintaining trust in the ecosystem. Help SMBs understand potential threats and how our solutions protect their long-term success. Offer risk management expertise to empower them with world-class protection.
  2. Scale for Growth: Helping to ensure our risk platform can be reused across multiple payment products and is ready to scale to reliably support increasing payment volumes, driving innovation and readiness for future expansion.
  3. Optimize Credit and Underwriting: Help to oversee the build of the credit and underwriting platform, balancing the need for an excellent customer experience with business growth and credit risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to defining and executing the product strategy for the Risk platform, balancing business needs with customer safety and compliance with leading technology practices.
  • Lead the team in delivering solutions that protect SMBs from fraud and other risks while supporting their growth.
  • Manage credit and underwriting platforms, ensuring risk management aligns with customer satisfaction and business performance.
  • Collaborate with risk strategy, legal, compliance, and other internal teams to build innovative solutions that set BILL apart.

Your Background

  • 10+ years of product management experience in the Fintech industry with a focus on risk, SaaS industry experience preferred
  • Proven experience scaling risk-related product platforms, including policy compliance, credit, underwriting, fraud, and contracting.
  • Strong track record of delivering high-impact products with intuitive customer experiences.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations, particularly in risk management.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions and shape product direction.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Experience in agile methodologies, product development, and managing product teams.

The estimated salary  range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role.  Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

San Jose pay range

$219,400 - $274,300 USD
