Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

We are seeking an experienced hand-on and visionary Manager of Developer and Infrastructure Platform to lead our internal developer platform team. This role is pivotal in shaping an end-to-end developer experience, from the initial stages of service development through to production deployment. The ideal candidate will manage both the developer platform and application infrastructure, ensuring they are architected for reliability, scalability, and high performance. This role requires collaboration with senior leadership on strategic thinking, technical expertise, and strong leadership and people skills to foster a supportive and high-performing team culture.

In this role you will:

  • Lead a team of 6-8 software engineers to achieve measurable improvements in technical excellence and system stability, aiming for a 20% reduction in system downtime and a 15% increase in code quality metrics.
  • Allocate 40% of your time to engineering tasks, including code reviews, architectural design, prototyping, and troubleshooting, ensuring a 25% faster resolution of critical issues.
  • Ensure the delivery of new and support existing end-to-end platform services, targeting an increase in feature deployment frequency.
  • Guide the team in rapid experimentation, aiming to increase quick prototypes for new ideas.
  • Collaborate with architects, product managers, and other engineering managers to deliver capabilities that improve customer satisfaction scores.
  • Develop and manage processes that enable the team to perform at their best, aiming to increase team productivity.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to hire engineers and contractors, achieving fulfillment of staffing needs within the planned timeline.
  • Uphold high standards for operational excellence and engineering rigor.

 

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). 
  • 7+ years of experience in software development or infrastructure management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in software development and infrastructure management, with a focus on developer tools and platforms.
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms, especially AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
  • Experience managing and growing engineering teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Proactive in developing strategies for business growth and technology innovation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with developer productivity tools, developer experience design, or internal platform development.
  • Track record of delivering projects/deliverables in a timely fashion in a fast-paced, lean and collaborative environment.

The estimated salary  range for this role is noted below for our San Jose based role.  Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. San Jose pay range

$185,900 - $223,000 USD

The estimated base salary range for this role is noted below for our office location in Draper, UT. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in BILL’s bonus and equity plan. Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed above. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits.

Draper UT pay range

$158,000 - $189,600 USD

Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits. Zone 1- San Francisco Bay Area CA (includes HQ), New York City, Seattle

$185,900 - $223,000 USD

Zone 2- CA (Non San Francisco Bay Area), Austin TX, Massachusetts

$167,300 - $200,700 USD

Zone 3 -Utah (includes Utah office), Houston TX (office), Florida, North Carolina

$158,000 - $189,600 USD
