At BILL, we are looking for a dynamic Senior Software Engineer to join our Identity Platform Engineering team, where you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling a secure platform that impacts millions of users. If you are passionate about a secure Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) foundation, this role offers the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems while shaping a scalable, robust platform.
As a part of our Identity platform team, you will be involved in efforts to consolidate identity and profile data, define role-based access controls and ensure seamless secure experiences across our web and mobile platforms. Your work will be foundational to both internal and external ecosystems, enabling smooth integration with partners and third-party developers.

We’d love to chat if you have:
- BS/MS in Computer Science, or a closely related field
- 5+ years developing systems/software for large business environment platforms on Java
- Experience implementing complex distributed systems and robust, highly scalable, and performant SaaS applications
- Experience with AWS: Serverless (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, EventBridge)
- 2+ years of experience in implementing Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) systems, with expertise in supporting Federated Identity using SAML and OpenID Connect, along with OAuth 2 based authorization protocols
- Good understanding of Identity fraud prevention, including MFA, step-up authentication and biometric security
- Excellent teamwork and communication, ability to work across multiple feature teams and product managers
- Passion for great products and building great customer experiences
