FP&A Intern
Ready to redefine what's possible in molecular diagnostics?
Join a team of brilliant, passionate innovators determined to transform healthcare. At BillionToOne, we've built a category-defining, publicly traded company on Nasdaq where transparency fuels trust, collaboration drives breakthroughs, and every contribution moves the needle on our mission to make life-changing diagnostics accessible to all. We don't just aim for incremental improvements; we build products that are 10x better than anything that exists today.

This is where cutting-edge science meets human compassion, and every innovation you contribute helps remove the fear of the unknown from some of life's most critical medical moments.
If you're driven by purpose, energized by innovation, and ready to help shape the future of precision medicine at scale, this is where you belong.
BillionToOne is seeking an FP&A Intern to support our Finance team over a 10-week summer engagement. This role offers a hands-on immersion into corporate financial planning and analysis—giving you real-world exposure to the modeling, reporting, and strategic thinking that powers a high-growth, publicly traded biotech. You will be trained to perform the core functions of a junior financial analyst, working directly alongside senior finance leaders on projects that directly inform company decision-making. The FP&A Intern reports to the FP&A Manager and is a hybrid role requiring 2–3 days per week on-site at our Menlo Park, CA headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis comparing actuals to budget and prior periods.
- Analyze revenue, operating expenses, and headcount data to surface actionable business insights for senior leadership.
- Build and maintain dashboards and data visualizations to track key financial and operational metrics.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and scenario modeling to support strategic initiatives and business cases.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve FP&A processes, templates, and workflows.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or an equivalent analytical discipline; rising juniors and seniors strongly encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and formula-driven analysis; experience with financial planning tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or similar) is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to distill complex financial data into concise summaries for non-finance audiences.
- A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
- Genuine intellectual curiosity about the business—eager to understand the ‘why’ behind the numbers, not just the mechanics.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or SQL is a plus but not required.
Benefits And Perks:
- Working with a team of ‘rockstars’ who bring out the best in everyone
- Open, transparent culture that includes weekly Town Hall meetings
