Facilities Coordinator
Join west coast facilities coordinator group, providing onsite and remote support to facilities management teams serving the San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and Boulder life science real estate markets.
This position is designed to train and develop entry-level team members with increasing levels of facilities-related responsibilities, managing and coordinating the technical building infrastructure systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, engineering, data, roofs and façades) that play a critical role in the success of our mission to provide optimal laboratory environments for our diverse tenant base.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement building operating and maintenance programs, improving system reliability, performance and energy efficiency.
- Support facilities managers with planning and overseeing new capital projects.
- Manage utility sub-metering systems, lead data analysis and quarterly reviews with property teams and create Excel-based energy models for new properties.
- Assist in preparing and tracking annual facilities utility budgets, including analyzing historical consumption, reviewing rates, and projecting use changes.
- Administer CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), managing asset data, maintenance schedules, user training, and monthly reports.
- Oversee electronic Drawing Archive platform, including management of construction plans, as-built data, and user access/training.
- Manage BMS (Building Management System) remote access software, including user setup, training, and installation.
- Comply with annual benchmarking requirements for utility consumption within ESPM (Energy Star Portfolio Manager) and GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark).
- Support management of Asset Protection and Emergency Response programs.
- Provide on-site support to Facility Managers as needed (some traveling required).
Job Specifications
- BS degree in an engineering discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and additional project management experience is required.
- Facilities experience within the life science industry a plus.
- Knowledge of building systems with a focus on HVAC equipment and MEP infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret building blueprints/drawings (CAD/PDF).
- Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio and Microsoft Project.
- Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Organized and task-oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple deadlines, and adapt readily to changing priorities.
- Passion for learning and professional development through training, mentorship, and staying current with industry advancements to strengthen technical expertise.
Salary Range: $40.37 - $50.33 per hour + bonus + benefits
