Senior Associate, Leasing

BioMed Realty, L.P. is seeking a strategic, hands-on leasing leader to drive performance across our East Coast portfolio. In this role you will shape and execute leasing strategies across a nearly 6 million square foot portfolio in Cambridge and Boston, MA, directly impacting asset value, occupancy, and long-term portfolio growth.

This role plays a critical part in aligning leasing execution with broader investment and asset management strategies. You’ll lead complex transactions, provide market intelligence, and partner cross-functionally to position our portfolio competitively in a dynamic life sciences and office market.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end leasing strategy and execution for assigned assets, from prospecting through lease negotiation and close.
  • Drive complex lease transactions, including structuring terms, negotiating agreements, and managing consents, terminations, and tenant obligations.
  • Evaluate leasing and investment scenarios by developing financial assumptions, analyzing models, and presenting data-driven recommendations to maximize asset value.
  • Partner with Investments on acquisitions and dispositions, contributing to due diligence and underwriting efforts.
  • Develop, set and execute strategic leasing and marketing plans, including rent positioning, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Oversee and direct brokers, and external partners to ensure aligned, high-impact execution.
  • Execute Local marketing Initiatives that align with company brand, leverage local identity, promote assets/properties and attract/convert prospective tenants
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, brokers, investors, and key stakeholders across the real estate community.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence and insights to senior leadership, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Property Management to ensure assets are maintained to a high standard and aligned with leasing strategy.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and key business and civic organizations.
  • Deliver compelling property tours and presentations to prospective tenants, investors, and senior stakeholders.

What You Bring

  • A strong strategic mindset paired with a hands-on approach to execution and deal-making.
  • Proven expertise in commercial leasing, including structuring and negotiating complex office and/or lab transactions.
  • Deep understanding of financial analysis, including underwriting, lease economics, and portfolio performance.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect leasing strategy to broader investment outcomes.
  • Executive presence with confidence engaging C-level stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to translate market data and financial analysis into clear, actionable strategies.
  • Advanced knowledge of toolset and tactics used to promote assets, attract and convert potential tenants, and measure effectiveness of marketing initiatives
  • Experience managing brokers, consultants, and third-party partners.
  • A highly organized, adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Significant experience in commercial real estate, with a strong focus on leasing strategy and execution.
  • Demonstrated success leading lease transactions; ability to provide a deal sheet of relevant office and/or lab deals.
  • Experience in the Greater Boston market strongly preferred.
  • Background in portfolio planning, financial analysis, and location strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, executing and measuring local and property level marketing campaigns, events, and materials to achieve leasing goals.
  • Experience with redevelopment projects and tenant improvements is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of leases, budgets, and real estate financial structures.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing or a related field required; advanced degree a plus.

Compensation: $132,000 - $165,000 per year + bonus + long term incentive + benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining pay, we’ll consider location, experience, and other job-related factors.
