Research Associate, UV Sterilization

About the Role
We are looking for a Research Associate to support the development and validation of our core UV sterilization technology. This role is based in our R&D lab and will be hands-on from day one. You will execute experiments, contribute to experimental design and data analysis, and help build out the lab infrastructure behind our platform.
This is a great fit for a recent BS graduate who wants to get into the lab at an early-stage company working on hard, meaningful problems. This role is expected to be in person.
Responsibilities
- Execute UV sterilization experiments following established protocols.
- Contribute to experimental design, protocol development, and data analysis alongside the research team
- Prepare samples, media, and reagents for UV exposure and microbial assay work.
- Perform microbial assays and maintain cultures and lab inventory.
- Record experimental data accurately and assist with data visualization and reporting.
Qualifications
- BS in microbiology, chemical engineering, biochemistry, bioengineering, food science or a closely related field.
- Microbiology bench skills including aseptic technique, culture maintenance, and basic microbial assays.
- Comfort with data collection, organization, and basic statistical analysis.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and take on a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Works well on a small team and communicates clearly.
Preferred Skills
- Prior lab experience through internships, co-ops, or undergraduate research.
- Mechanically minded.
- Experience with bioprocess equipment or bioreactor operations.
