THE OPPORTUNITY: Production Assistant

REPORTS TO: Senior PD & Production Manager

LOCATION: LA - Hybrid

Headquartered in Los Angeles, CA with an office in New York, NY, Birdy Grey supports a hybrid work environment. This role requires working out of our DTLA HQ 3 times a week. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. #LI-Hybrid

Birdy Grey is looking for a highly adaptable Production Assistant to support our Production & PD team. This role will work closely with our Technical Designers and Merchandising team. The candidate should have experience working in a fast paced dress production environment. 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for supporting the Production and fabric team in the execution and maintenance of apparel Production processes
    • Work closely with Production and Fabric Manager assisting with sample management, data entry and departmental tasks
    • Track bulk Production progress to ensure it meets required timelines, exercising appropriate judgment to elevate issues/ delays as needed
    • Ensuring Bulk WIP is live and up to date, ensure all PO details are maintained and accurate
    • Collaborate with the logistics team, determine shipment dates, communicate any production changes with logistics, and process and maintain production invoices
    • Manage and track samples, ensuring internal deadlines are met
    • Adhere to production calendar and assist department in achieving all deadline goals   
    • Open packages and distribute to PD/Production team
    • Send packages out to vendors and suppliers as needed, and maintain shipment log for all parcels
    • Assist with passing fit samples to tech design and logging in fit log
    • Photo and Marketing Sample Management
    • Assist with Steaming and Prepping Creative samples for Photoshoots
    • Maintaining and organizing fabric and trim filing system
    • Manage TOP book and TOP swatches
    • Partner with cross functional team to manage storage room and creating and maintaining an archiving process
    • Assisting with sending fabric and trim approval/rejection comments

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE: QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree Required 

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-3 years of experience in apparel production and/or production.
  • Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proactive problem solver with the ability to troubleshoot and/or escalate issues effectively.
  • Hard working and willing to roll sleeves up - no job is too big or too small.
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, fluid environment. You are comfortable with ambiguity and take initiative to lead projects.
