Chief Accounting Officer

Bitcoin Depot is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to act as our Chief Accounting Officer (CAO).  This individual will be a key member of the Executive Management team.

This is a remote position. 

Bitcoin Depot is the largest Bitcoin ATM Network in the world offering users the ability to buy and sell Bitcoin at thousands of BTM and BDCheckout locations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the finance and internal accounting activities including interim and year-end financial reporting process, billing, payroll, financial planning, modeling, and forecasting, and revenue and expense analysis/management 
  • Responsible for managing all Accounting and Finance Department staff and developing and promoting a framework to drive financial accountability across the Department and organization 
  • Provide regular, accurate and meaningful financial reporting in an easily digestible format to the Executive Management team 
  • Develop budgets and reporting to monitor and enhance the financial performance of each business unit 
  • Provide the Executive Management team with advice on the financial implications of current and future business activities, including providing recommendations on organic and inorganic growth strategies 
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place to increase efficiencies, minimize errors, as well as to ensure compliance with applicable laws and rules for financial reporting 
  • Act as the primary contact with outside auditors for the firm-level and private fund audit process 
  • Assist with all financial-related aspects of mergers and acquisition, including execution of capital raising strategies to support the firm’s growth Attributes & Qualifications
  • Assisting the senior team in fundraising activities, including interfacing with bankers and investors

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent required (CPA and/or MBA highly desirable) 
  • Proven track record as an experienced Chief Financial Officer in a public company/Fintech
  • Smart and analytical individual who can produce complex financial models, forecasts and reporting and condense it into a user-friendly format 
  • Hands-on with the ability to think outside of the box and solve unexpected problems 
  • Strong technical skills and working knowledge of accounting software and other reporting and presentation tools
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills including experience managing a team and the ability to converse effectively with colleagues, clients and business partners
