Join the BitGo Data Engineering team as we build the modern infrastructure powering our Core Accounting Ledger, Financial Data Architecture, and Institutional Reporting Platform. In this role, you will help design and scale high-performance data pipelines that serve as the single source of truth for financial operations and client-facing reporting. You will tackle real-world challenges in high-precision data transformation, pipeline performance, and financial accuracy, helping establish an enterprise-grade foundation for institutional ledgering, operational reconciliation, auditing, and analytics.
Core Focus Areas
- Data Modeling: Assist in designing scalable, low-latency data models and accounting ledger structures across Snowflake and distributed database systems.
- Cost & Performance Optimization: Identify pipeline bottlenecks, tune SQL query execution, and optimize storage and compute efficiency to control warehouse costs.
- Data Quality & Auditability: Build robust monitoring, reconciliation scripts, and validation checks to guarantee zero-loss accuracy, reliability, and audit-readiness across account ledgers.
- Institutional Data Architecture: Work with real-time streaming and distributed processing tools to scale the underlying architecture supporting high-throughput ledger systems and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-throughput batch and streaming data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for accounting ledgers and institutional reporting datasets.
- Develop and optimize scalable data models tailored for core account ledgering, institutional client reporting, and complex balance reconciliations.
- Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot operational bugs, and enforce data quality standards via automated unit, functional, and balance-checking tests.
- Analyze compute and storage usage to recommend cost-saving optimizations across our Snowflake and AWS environments.
- Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Data Science, and Business Analytics teams to power core accounting workflows and reporting tools.
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD practices, and maintain clear technical documentation for ledger data lineages.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong fundamentals in SQL and Python, with a keen interest in data modeling, accounting ledger concepts, and distributed systems.
- High attention to detail regarding financial data accuracy, code reliability, and edge-case testing.
- Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS) and modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake).
- Passion for cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and institutional financial systems.
