Speech Language Pathologist - Hybrid (Part-Time)

Under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, the Speech-language pathologist efficiently and accurately provides evidence-based speech and language evaluations. Through collaboration with other specialty providers, this position determines and creates appropriate treatment plans for new and existing Blackbird patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide evidence-based speech and language evaluations
- Establish positive, trusting rapport with patients
- Create individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances
- Collaborate with other specialty providers (i.e. CRNPs and speech therapists) to establish an Integrated Treatment Plan
- Conduct ongoing assessments of patient progress (e.g., biannual or annual re-evaluations)
- Involve and advise family members when appropriate
- Refer patients to outside specialists or agencies when necessary
- Navigate electronic medical record systems efficiently and complete all necessary clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner (24 hours)
- Attend and actively contribute to regular team meetings, providing valuable input on clinical and administrative matters.
- Stay current with advances in technology and healthcare through ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Demonstrate a commitment to innovation, intrinsic motivation, building relationships, and exploring creative means of evaluation.
- Perform other clinical-related activities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Possession of a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university.
- Licensure: valid Virginia state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- At least two years of experience providing speech and language services to clients, preferably in a clinical setting, with experience in telehealth.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in navigating electronic medical record systems and other technology.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practice and commitment to staying up to date with the latest research and clinical practices.
- Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule: 1 day a week working onsite at our Vienna Virgina location, your remaining time will be remote
- Ability to complete 90-minute evaluations (direct clinical service) with 60-minute documentation time (non-direct clinical service) and 2 hours of administrative time for team meetings
- Caseload of 8 evaluations a week
- Flexible schedule including a combination of morning and evening evaluation ability (8-10 am and 3-7 pm) and weekday/weekend availability. This position will focus on weekday evaluations after 3 pm EST and before 10 am EST
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL
- A minimum of 2 years of experience providing speech and language services to clients, preferably in a clinical/telehealth setting, is desired
- Ability to maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in navigating electronic medical record systems and other relevant technology.
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with patients, provider partners, and colleagues
- Open to professional and clinical feedback and interested in working in a supporting and collegial clinical environment.
- Flexibility to adjust to a dynamic work environment.
- Must value operating in a collaborative and cooperative environment.
- Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
*The target salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors, including licensure, experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
