Full-Stack Developer Python/Django/Angular (SRA)
Overview
Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is searching for a Full-Stack Developer (Python/Django/Angular) to support the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), part of the U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health. This opportunity is full-time and involves working with the NCBI team in Bethesda, MD.
NCBI is part of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NCBI is the world’s premier biomedical center, hosting over six million daily users who seek research, clinical, genetic, and other information that directly impacts biomedical research and public health. Duties & Responsibilities
- Build robust, performant, user-facing web applications in Python/Django/Angular, supporting millions of daily users
- Develop, create, and ship new functionality for user interaction and scientific data visualization, using modern APIs and frameworks
- Work as an integral part of an agile product team to deliver an unbelievably great user experience
- Deliver responsive, accessible, mobile-friendly code of high quality (automated test/build/deploy)
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or a scientific field (engineering, physics), or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of full-stack web applications development, using Python, Django, and Angular.
- Understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with relational database modeling and data migration
- Knowledge of accessibility and security compliance
- Experience with version control systems like Git or SVN
Bonus Skills
- Experience using web services and RESTful APIs
- Semantic markup and modern web layout techniques
- Experience with agile development processes
- Experience with C++, SQL server and working with relational database
- Expertise working on bioinformatics software applications handling DNA sequence data.

We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and location. The targeted range for this position is $140,000 - $220,000.
