Overview

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is searching for an Application Developer to support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise applications using the Microsoft Power Platform and related technologies. The Application Developer will work with technical teams and business stakeholders to develop secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions that meet defined business requirements and align with organizational IT standards.

Job Description

The Application Developer will perform advanced application development using the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, connectors, and related technologies. This position will design, develop, customize, test, and support complex application systems that address specific business and operational needs.

The Application Developer will also produce and maintain detailed technical design documentation, participate in architecture and design reviews, lead code reviews, and support product releases, installations, training, enhancements, and ongoing application support.

Required Skills

  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications
  • Experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Power Apps
  • Hands-on experience with Power Automate
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dataverse
  • Experience configuring and integrating connectors and external data sources
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical application solutions
  • Experience designing and coding software solutions to meet defined business needs
  • Understanding of software architecture, application design, and database design principles
  • Experience creating and maintaining detailed technical design documentation
  • Experience troubleshooting application issues and implementing enhancements
  • Experience participating in design and code reviews
  • Ability to develop applications in accordance with established IT architecture, security, and development standards
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users

Experience Requirements by Level:

  • Senior: 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Mid-Level: 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Junior: 3+ years of relevant experience

Desired Skills

  • Experience developing complex or enterprise-scale Microsoft Power Platform solutions
  • Experience with model-driven and canvas Power Apps
  • Experience developing custom or advanced Power Automate workflows
  • Experience integrating Power Platform applications with external systems, APIs, or databases
  • Experience with application lifecycle management and deployment processes
  • Experience developing database schemas, class diagrams, and system architecture documentation
  • Experience creating physical and deployment diagrams
  • Experience leading technical design and documentation reviews
  • Experience leading code reviews and applying software development best practices
  • Experience supporting production application releases and deployments
  • Experience delivering technical training or end-user support
  • Experience working within environments subject to compliance, security, or formal IT architecture requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, customize, and maintain applications using Microsoft Power Platform technologies
  • Develop solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, connectors, and related technologies
  • Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable application solutions
  • Design, program, and code software solutions to address specific business needs
  • Develop and implement application architectures aligned with established IT standards
  • Optimize application development through effective system design, database utilization, code development, and software architecture
  • Produce detailed technical design specifications in accordance with IT architecture requirements
  • Create and maintain system architecture descriptions, high-level designs, detailed designs, database schemas, class diagrams, and physical and deployment diagrams
  • Coordinate and lead reviews and approvals of software system documentation
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions and provide technical recommendations
  • Implement approved system architecture and application improvements
  • Lead and perform design reviews and code reviews
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user issues, defects, enhancement requests, and application support needs
  • Lead and support technical product release activities
  • Coordinate application installations and deployments
  • Provide technical training and ongoing product support
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, architects, and other technical teams throughout the system development lifecycle
  • Ensure application solutions comply with organizational architecture, security, development, and documentation standards
