Junior Solutions Analyst

Overview

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is searching for a Junior Solutions Analyst to support business process analysis, workflow documentation, and process improvement activities. The Junior Solutions Analyst will work with experienced analysts, technical teams, and organizational stakeholders to document existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support the development of clear and effective future-state workflows.

Job Description

The Junior Solutions Analyst will provide analytical and process-support services while working under the guidance of more experienced team members. This position will assist with gathering operational information, documenting current-state workflows, identifying process steps and handoffs, and organizing findings into clear and usable process documentation.

The Junior Solutions Analyst will also support development of future-state workflows, SOPs, diagrams, templates, and job aids and assist with pilot testing and collection of stakeholder feedback.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience supporting business analysis, process improvement, workflow documentation, or related activities
  • Experience gathering and documenting business or operational requirements
  • Ability to document current-state (“as-is”) processes and workflows
  • Ability to identify process steps, handoffs, bottlenecks, and dependencies
  • Experience creating or supporting development of process maps, workflow diagrams, or similar documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize information and produce clear documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively with analysts, technical teams, and organizational stakeholders
  • Ability to follow established policies, procedures, internal controls, and documentation standards

Desired Skills

  • Experience participating in stakeholder interviews or discovery sessions
  • Experience creating SOPs, templates, workflow charts, or job aids
  • Exposure to business process improvement or workflow redesign initiatives
  • Experience collecting and organizing user or stakeholder feedback
  • Experience supporting pilot testing or implementation activities
  • Familiarity with workflow automation or digital process improvement concepts
  • Experience working in a federal government or regulated environment

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with reviews of existing business processes and workflows
  • Gather operational information from stakeholders and available documentation
  • Support stakeholder discovery workshops and process review sessions
  • Document current-state (“as-is”) process steps, handoffs, decision points, and bottlenecks
  • Organize process findings into clear baseline documentation
  • Assist with development of future-state (“to-be”) workflow components
  • Document requirements for process improvements
  • Identify opportunities for process simplification or clarification
  • Prepare draft process diagrams, workflow charts, and templates
  • Support creation and maintenance of SOPs and job aids
  • Assist with pilot testing activities
  • Collect and organize user feedback and testing observations
  • Track requested updates and process refinements
  • Support preparation of revised documentation following testing or stakeholder review
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and technical team members
  • Ensure work follows applicable policies, internal controls, and federal requirements
