Accounting Manager

To support Black Duck’s ongoing rapid growth, Black Duck seeks a highly motivated and energetic individual who is ready to roll up their sleeves and add value quickly to this fast- paced environment.  The Global Accounting Manager is responsible for performing accounting operations and financial reporting processes across multiple regions.  They will also ensure compliance with international accounting standards and local regulations. This role involves coordinating with a global team, implementing standardized accounting practices, and supporting financial strategy by providing accurate and timely insights. The Global Accounting Manager serves as a key liaison between regional Controllers and corporate leadership, driving efficiency and excellence in global financial operations.  The role will be based in Burlington on a hybrid basis.

 

Global Accounting Operations: 

  • Perform daily accounting activities across global regions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll functions, accruals and fixed assets.  
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings for all entities.  
  • Create and review intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations to ensure accurate consolidated financial reporting.  
  • Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and other relevant international standards.  
  • Support regional controllers for compliance with local statutory reporting and tax requirements in each region. 
  • Support audits (internal and external), providing documentation and ensuring audit readiness globally.  
  • Complete and ensure balance sheet reconciliation have been completed and approved across all regions.

Process Improvement:  

  • Develop and implement global accounting policies, procedures, and controls to drive consistency and efficiency. 
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities in accounting workflows.  
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to optimize ERP systems for global use.  

Ideal core qualifications, experience, attributes and skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Business from an accredited College/University required
  • 7-10 years of experience with at least 3 years in a global or multi-entity organization, preferably SAAS/software or high-tech environment
  • 1- 3 years public experience
  • Proficient with automated general ledger / ERP applications
  • Strong knowledge of foreign currency accounting, consolidation, and intercompany transactions. 
  • Effectively working with people in different geographical locations, cultures, and time zones
  • Quick learner, able to pick up accounting and finance knowledge on-the-go in a fast-paced environment without appreciable direction
  • Experience with all accounting areas including, but not limited to accrual based accounting, professional service cost and revenue recognition, and, equity and debt US GAAP standards
  • Strong attention to detail, is hands on, able to grasp concepts (not simply the mechanics), and is adept at identifying change
  • Excellent people and coordination skills in interactions with colleagues, cross-functional teams, and external third parties
  • Effective communication, both written and spoken
  • Complete and proficient skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and working with big data from disparate applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a shared services environment or engaging in global process transformations.  
  • Background in assisting with accounting aspects of mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring activities. 
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Worked QuickBooks Online, SAP, or NetSuite

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $113,000-$169,000. In addition, this role is eligible for bonus. Black Duck offers a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.

 

Pay Range

$113,000 - $169,000 USD
