Infrastructure Leadership
- Oversee lifecycle management of core network infrastructure including Cisco Nexus, Juniper QFX, and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Define standards for wireless architecture, including predictive site surveys, RF planning, and performance optimization.
- Drive automation and orchestration initiatives to streamline network operations and reduce manual overhead.
Global Operations & Reliability
- Lead global network operation workflows in a follow-the-sun support model, ensuring high availability and performance across all regions.
- Establish proactive monitoring, alerting, and incident response protocols for critical infrastructure.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for escalated network support.
Documentation & Governance
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation including as-built diagrams, logical/physical topologies, and CMDB entries.
- Ensure alignment with compliance frameworks and internal governance policies.
Security & Resilience
- Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to implement segmentation, threat detection, and vulnerability remediation strategies.
- Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network infrastructure.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) for remote data center operations including cabling, hardware deployment, and diagnostics.
- Engage with Engineering, Cloud, and IT teams to support product launches, infrastructure scaling, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Experience in enterprise network engineering, within a lead or principal role.
- Expert-level knowledge of Cisco Nexus (9K/7K), Juniper QFX, and Palo Alto NGFW platforms.
- Proven experience designing and deploying EVPN/VXLAN fabrics and BGP-based architectures.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and direct interconnects (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience managing global network environments across multiple regions and time zones.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for strategic projects.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent expert-level credentials.
- Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, VPN technologies, and Zero Trust architectures.
- Knowledge of network observability tools (e.g., NetBox, Grafana, SolarWinds).
Work Environment:
- Hybrid role based in the United Kingdom.
- International travel required for infrastructure projects and strategic engagements.
- Participation in a follow-the-sun model with North American counterparts for global coverage.
- Inclusion in a rotating on-call schedule to support critical network operations outside of business hours
