Community Localization Strategist

We’re looking for a strategic and culturally fluent Community Localization Strategist to lead our efforts in expanding and nurturing our global community—starting with key markets in China and Japan. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of community building, localization, and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll be responsible for crafting and executing a comprehensive localization strategy that not only translates content but also adapts our community experience to resonate deeply with local audiences. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across marketing, product, and customer success to ensure our community is inclusive, engaging, and scalable across regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Own the Localization Strategy: Build a roadmap for community localization, starting with China and Japan, including content, platform, and engagement strategies.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Present and advocate for your strategy to internal stakeholders, securing buy-in and cross-functional support.
  • Execution & Project Management: Lead the end-to-end execution of localization initiatives, including translation workflows, regional content calendars, and community engagement tactics.
  • Community Growth & Engagement: Build and nurture vibrant, regionally relevant communities by collaborating with local influencers, moderators, and partners.
  • Platform Optimization: Work with product and engineering teams to ensure our community platform (Salesforce Experience Cloud) is optimized for localized experiences.
  • Tooling & Process Improvement: Evaluate and implement localization tools and workflows to streamline content adaptation and community operations.
  • Insights & Reporting: Track KPIs and user feedback to continuously improve the localized community experience

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in community management, localization strategy, or international marketing.
  • Proven success launching or scaling community initiatives in China and/or Japan.
  • Strong understanding of local cultural nuances, digital platforms, and user behavior in target regions.
  • Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud or similar community platforms is a major plus.
  • Familiarity with localization tools (e.g., Smartling, Lokalise, Transifex) and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Mandarin and/or Japanese is a strong advantage
