Senior Software Engineer - Android

We are the Marketplace team within Blacklane’s Chauffeur domain. Our mission is to match offers against chauffeurs and continuously optimise how rides are distributed. You’ll work on the Chauffeur workforce app, which was entirely rebuilt last year on a modern Android architecture. With this strong foundation, we are now focusing on marketplace optimisation, scalable architecture, and intuitive user experiences.

 

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Drive development of the Chauffeur workforce app, focusing on marketplace-related features and improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend to deliver high-quality, iterative product improvements.
  • Contribute to and evolve our Android architecture, ensuring scalability and long-term maintainability.
  • Shape engineering practices in testing, CI/CD, and release processes.
  • Mentor teammates and foster a culture of learning and collaboration.

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • 8+ years of experience in Android development, with a strong track record as a Senior Engineer.
  • Expert in Kotlin and modern Android frameworks.
  • Bring a product mindset: focus on solving user problems, shipping iteratively, and learning from feedback.
  • Strong communicator, able to engage with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative team player: you disagree constructively, commit to decisions, and help raise the bar.
  • Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and app release processes.
