Internal and Corporate Communications Manager

As Internal & Corporate Communications Manager, you will develop and execute internal and external communications initiatives that shape Blacklane’s global reputation. Working closely with senior leadership and teams across the business, you will manage corporate media relations, create high-impact storytelling and thought leadership opportunities for our executives, and engage our people around the world through exceptional internal communications.
Your work will ensure consistent and compelling representation of Blacklane in all channels, strengthening our brand, supporting our business strategy, and fostering positive external and internal perceptions and collaborations.
 

YOUR CHALLENGE:

1. Develop and Execute Comprehensive Corporate Communications Strategies
  • Integrate internal and external audience insights with global reputation priorities and our values of care, drive and excellence to build clear, impactful communications strategies that support Blacklane’s business objectives.
  • Implement comprehensive communications plans across channels, ensuring consistency of messaging and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Use insights and data to refine and innovate our internal and corporate communications approach, continuously improving impact and relevance.
  • Create executive-level communications strategies and activation plans (e.g. media, events, LinkedIn, internal channels) that reinforce our brand values and strategic growth ambitions.
2. Media Support and Outreach
  • Create and craft compelling media pitches to deliver high-quality press coverage for our spokespeople and about our business.
  • Support media outreach activities, including press interviews, events, conferences, and briefings to maintain a consistent, positive public image for Blacklane.
  • Act as a liaison between Blacklane and the media, providing accurate, timely information and representing the company’s perspective in a professional and engaging way.
  • Participate in media-related activities to secure positive coverage and build strong, long-term relationships with key journalists, outlets, and opinion leaders particularly across business media.
3. Editorial Opportunities and Thought Leadership
  • Proactively identify new editorial opportunities that increase third-party visibility for Blacklane and its leaders, including media features, bylines, and profiles.
  • Develop and pitch speaking opportunities that reinforce our brand values and strategic growth ambitions, including preparing presentations, speeches, and supporting materials.
  • Develop and run thought leadership campaigns around themes and topics relevant to key stakeholders – including media, clients, and strategic partners.
  • Actively seek opportunities to showcase Blacklane’s expertise, achievements, and thought leadership in relevant media, industry forums, and conferences.
  • Support media training for senior leaders and develop materials for speaking engagements, including talking points, speaker guidelines, and supporting content.
4. Strategic Partnerships and Agency Management
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with business media and relevant external partners (for example: in  sustainability)  to develop Blacklane’s presence and messaging.
  • Collaborate on joint initiatives and campaigns with external partners that strengthen Blacklane’s corporate positioning and reach new or strategic audiences.
  • Manage relationships and budgets with external communications and PR agencies to deliver on Blacklane’s corporate reputation strategy and objectives.
  • Work closely with agencies to design and execute effective communication campaigns, ensuring they are on-brief, on-brand, and aligned with broader company goals.
5. Internal Communications 
  • Work hand-in-hand with our People & Culture team to drive internal communications across our global hubs, pulling together one global team united by our values of care, drive and excellence.
  • Own and deliver regular townhall events, including setting out content and designing how news and information are shared and celebrated by our global crew.
  • Provide recommendations and lead how our internal communications evolve as we show up in more locations worldwide, ensuring our channels and formats scale with the business.
  • Set new processes and innovate to ensure excellence in internal communications, drive best practices, and represent a dynamic business whose people are its greatest asset.

How You’ll Work with Others

Internal Communication and Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the Head of Communications and the Communications team to ensure all initiatives are aligned with global reputation priorities and overall company strategy.
  • Work together with other marketing and communications disciplines (e.g. brand, performance marketing, content, employer branding) and our people and culture teams to ensure activity is strategically aligned and delivers the greatest impact and return.
  • Collaborate across departments (including market leadership teams, sales, finance and others) to uncover strong storylines, data points, and use cases that can be told to the media and other external audiences.
  • Regularly share updates on corporate communications strategies, campaign results, public perception, competitor activity, and industry trends with internal stakeholders to inform decision-making.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree (e.g. Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field).
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, PR, or a closely related field. Experience in corporate media relations, internal communications or agency environments is a strong advantage.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - in both German and English - with the ability to craft compelling messages, press releases, briefing documents, Linkedin posts and other communication materials.
  • Corporate media relations experience, including pitching business stories and profiles, managing inquiries, and supporting spokespersons in interviews and appearances.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute comprehensive corporate and internal communications strategies that are aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Collaborative mindset, with experience working across teams and functions - both internally and externally - to discover, develop, and refine strong storylines and narratives.
  • Partnership-building skills, particularly in establishing and managing strategic relationships with media outlets and external partners to amplify corporate profile Stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to represent the corporate and internal communications perspective credibly at both local and global levels while managing relationships at all levels, including those across the executive leadership team.
