Onboarding Manager

Remote

Role: Onboarding Manager

Description:  As an Onboarding and Enablement Manager, you’ll own the critical first chapters of the customer journey: onboarding new customers and driving enablement for existing ones. Your mission is to guide customers through successful implementation and adoption of the Blackthorn suite of Salesforce-native products, particularly Blackthorn Events, ensuring they achieve measurable value quickly and sustainably.
This is a highly collaborative, customer-facing role where you’ll combine project management expertise, technical knowledge, and consultative skills to deliver seamless implementations, impactful training, and continuous enablement. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to ensure every customer onboarding experience is predictable, well-managed, and outcome-driven.

Base Salary: $100,000-$110,000

What you'll do

  • Serve as the project manager and primary point of contact for customers during onboarding, guiding them from kickoff through go-live.
  • Manage multiple concurrent onboarding projects, balancing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
  • Lead discovery and requirements gathering sessions with customers to define onboarding scope, success criteria, and timelines.
  • Develop and manage project plans, milestones, and risk/issue logs to ensure on-time and high-quality delivery.
  • Configure, guide, or oversee system setup and data preparation steps as needed for customer go-live.
  • Follow repeatable onboarding processes, templates, and playbooks to ensure consistency and scale.
  • Facilitate customer enablement sessions or “office hours” to prepare teams for launch and provide enablement support for existing customers.
  • Act as the coordination hub across internal teams (Sales, Product, Engineering, Support) during the onboarding phase.
  • Provide structured handoff to Customer Success Managers (CSMs) at go-live.
  • Capture customer feedback during onboarding and relay insights to Product and Engineering.

What we look for

  • 3+ years of experience in SaaS onboarding, implementation, or project management roles.
  • Proven project management expertise: scoping, planning, tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Hands-on Salesforce knowledge; Salesforce Administrator certification a plus.
  • Strong technical aptitude for SaaS implementations — comfortable with system configuration, workflow documentation, and data considerations.
  • Excellent remote communication and facilitation skills, able to engage customer stakeholders in virtual settings.
  • Experience producing clear project documentation (functional specs, flow charts, swim lanes, trackers).
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects in time-sensitive environments.

What we offer

  • An incredible team of smart and supportive people
  • A deep feeling of satisfaction and completion
  • Fully remote global team working from home
  • Stock options for every employee
  • Flexible work week
  • $400 office stipend
  • Maternity/Paternity leave
  • Student loan debt assistance
  • Pledge 1% - time off during the year for helping nonprofits
  • Health insurance contribution (if in the US)
  • Children's 529 college fund assistance (if in the US)

About Blackthorn

We have four native apps on the Salesforce AppExchange for managing Events, collecting Payments, sending Messages, and protecting Data. We’re a growing, distributed team with teammates in countries across the world. We move fast and have a significant structure in our product build process. Everyone on our team has deep experience within their respective roles. Our customers span from 1-person companies to Fortune 500s.

Why is our work important

Our apps continue to be easy to use and setup, due to continuous refinements with our UX. Most apps in our space take weeks to implement; ours take hours, and they work more flexibly, achieving significantly more functionality than our competitors. We believe enterprise apps should be as easy to use as consumer mobile apps.

What the job will bring you

A deep level of satisfaction through ownership of your role. You'll get more autonomy than at other companies (our team has told us). Connection. Our team is tightly knit, assisted through our annual company trip (as we're remote). Challenge. We're trying to move as quick as possible. This is not for you if you want to sit back and chill. As Ray Dalio says about life: "Meaningful work and meaningful relationships" provide meaning to life. We aim to bring this.

While we are a Remote first culture we are currently only able to accept applicants in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KY, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, SD, TX, VA, WA, and WI

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
