Job Description:
Blake Willson Group is seeking a Senior Associate to provide financial and IT audit support by applying technical expertise and business acumen to deliver innovative solutions. This role involves working closely with internal teams and external auditors to manage audit-related tasks such as PBC requests, PBC training, PBC communications, audit issue tracking, and Non-Compliance Findings (NFR) support. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting audit responses, financial reporting deliverables, and ensuring compliance with federal financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support Prepared by Client (PBC) requests, including tracking, training, and communication with stakeholders.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the audit issue tracker, ensuring the timely resolution of identified audit issues.
- Provide NFR support by gathering and analyzing key supporting documentation to address and remediate audit findings.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and relevant OMB policies.
- Support audit remediation by identifying internal control gaps, assisting with corrective action plans, and improving financial processes.
- Communicate and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure audit readiness and deliverables are met on time.
- Provide technical expertise for financial and IT audits, including the preparation of audit-related documentation.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of relevant experience in supporting audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting.
- Experience working with State or Federal Government agencies or large, complex organizations adhering to:
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS)
- Relevant OMB policies
- One of the following professional certifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
- Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM)
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with Federal audit processes and procedures is highly desired.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $90,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
