Director of Product
Remote (U.S.) · Full-time
Salary Range: $160K - $200K
Are you ready for your breakthrough job? We’ve got the AI Product Rocketship for you.
BlastPoint is seeking a product leader who is a builder at heart. We’re looking for someone who has shipped complex B2B SaaS products in high-growth, fast-paced environments and is ready to build a world-class product function from the ground up. A leader who can take a strong, founder-led product and install the systems, processes, and vision to make it a market-dominating platform.
This position demands intensity, intellectual rigor, and an obsession with shipping value. We're seeking someone who thrives on turning customer pain into shipped code and understands that startup success is built on a foundation of relentless execution. If you're looking for a mature product org with established processes and a traditional 9-5 schedule, this isn't the opportunity for you.
This isn't a typical Director of Product position. This is a call to arms for a builder.
This is a hands-on product leadership role for a product builder who wants to create something from the ground up. You won’t inherit a mature product organization or a large team, you will be the product function at the start, operating as a true player-coach and partnering alongside engineering while shaping the long-term vision.
We’re looking for a leader with recent, practical experience building products in the AI era, where data, analytics, and customer feedback meaningfully inform product decisions. This role is for someone who thrives in ambiguity, turns customer needs into product reality, and designs lightweight systems that scale before they calcify. You’ll have an opportunity to help define how product works here, then grow the team intentionally once the foundation is proven.
Why BlastPoint?
The timing couldn't be better. Following a successful Series A round, BlastPoint is entering a hyper-growth phase. We've proven our value with major utilities and financial service providers, and are expanding into additional verticals. Our clients are seeing clear ROI, and our reference-ability is off the charts. You won't be starting from scratch; you'll be building on a rock-solid foundation.
You'll be stepping into a role where:
- You're taking over the product function from our founders (our CTO & CEO) who have been the acting Heads of Product and are ready to hand you the keys.
- The product is proven, the clients are referenceable, and the market need is urgent and growing across multiple regulated industries.
- You’ll be working in a truly AI-native environment. This isn't a company bolting on AI features; you'll be at the core of a team where AI (and not just GenAI) is the entire product and GTM strategy.
- You’ll get to monetize a unique, proprietary dataset in complex, regulated markets,a rare and valuable challenge.
- This is your chance to be the first dedicated product leader and build the product function from the ground up, your way.
The Role & Team Context
This is a hands-on role. You will be our first dedicated product leader, not just a manager of other PMs. You will be the team before you build the team.
You’ll be parachuting into an environment of immense opportunity and challenge. Our engineering organization is in the midst of a founder-led upgrade to increase velocity and scale our infrastructure. You won't be a bystander; you'll be a key architect of this transformation, acting as the connective tissue between our customers and our code.
Your success will be measured by customer outcomes and business impact—adoption, retention, and the measurable ROI our platform delivers. We're looking for someone who wakes up thinking about customer pain and goes to bed thinking about shipped code that solves it.
Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap end-to-end, prioritizing what we build next based on company OKRs, customer outcomes, and measurable business impact.
- Lead the full product lifecycle from discovery through delivery and launch, ensuring clarity, momentum, and quality at every stage.
- Define, implement, and track product success metrics, using data and qualitative insight to inform prioritization, measure impact, and iterate post-launch.
- Own the user experience, partnering closely with Design and Engineering to deliver intuitive, cohesive experiences while balancing technical constraints and delivery tradeoffs.
- Build strong customer and internal feedback loops, synthesizing input from customers, Sales, CS, and Engineering into clear roadmap decisions and updates.
- Write and maintain high-quality product artifacts (PRDs, one-pagers, user stories) for early product cycles, setting a strong standard for how product work is defined and communicated.
- Stay deeply connected to customers, spending significant time in discovery, joining customer and sales conversations, and working with CS to understand real-world workflows and jobs-to-be-done.
- Serve as the connective tissue across teams, aligning Engineering, Sales, CS, and Design around a shared product vision, priorities, and tradeoffs.
- Embed with the engineering team in daily development workflows, supplying business context and product intent to remove ambiguity, accelerate execution, and move product releases from concept to reality faster.
- Define and enforce release criteria, serving as the final decision-maker on when work is truly “done” and ready to be released by aligning with all relevant internal teams for final product release sign-off.
- Partner with Engineering on execution, improving planning accuracy, release quality, and cycle time, and defining what “done” means for completed product release.
- Support go-to-market alignment, working with Marketing and Sales to translate product capabilities into clear positioning, messaging, and enablement.
- Contribute to pricing and packaging decisions, partnering with Sales and Finance to support new customer acquisition and expansion.
- Collaborate with Security and DevOps, ensuring product decisions support compliance, data privacy, and security requirements, including SOC 2 and customer diligence.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years in Product Management, with a proven track record of shipping complex B2B SaaS products.
- Experience in data/analytics platforms is a must, preferably including segmentation, data enrichment, predictive analytics, agentic workflows, and/or other types of machine learning.
- Strong preference for candidates from nimble, scrappy environments rather than large corporate backgrounds…we need builders, not maintainers.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment where you've had to build process from scratch and push ahead even when things aren't 100% clear.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills e.g.,you can command a room with customers and engineers alike.
- Experience in or adjacent to regulated markets (utilities, financial services) is a strong plus.
- Knowledge and understanding of early product vertical development needs; understanding of what it takes to get to a repeatable, scalable, and maintainable structure and proven track record in implementing thoughtful processes.
- Working knowledge of how organizations activate data segments to engage customers in changing behavior via email, sms, direct mail, and digital et al.
- A demonstrated ability to work closely with sales and marketing teams as well as customer success
What Sets You Apart
- You have a bias toward shipping that borders on obsessiveness.
- You are a systems thinker who installs durable mechanisms, not one-offs.
- You can coordinate across multiple teams and find solutions that give stakeholders what they need to move faster
- You are not afraid of hard conversations and can hold the line on scope and quality.
- You are a builder, not just a strategist. You get energy from being in the weeds of a problem.
- You see a fast-paced, high-growth environment not as something to avoid, but as a once-in-a-career opportunity.
- You take full ownership and don't make excuses, this means outcomes over effort.
We're looking for someone who's hungry for the challenge, not afraid of the pressure, and ready to build something exceptional. This will be one of the most rewarding places you'll work but also one of the most demanding.
Location, Compensation & Benefits
- Location: Remote (U.S.), with occasional travel to Pittsburgh HQ, trade shows, and customer sites.
- Compensation: Base salary (150 - 200K) + equity.
- Benefits: Flexible work, health insurance, 401(k), and generous PTO, among other perks. We aren’t kidding about the flex work; our team works hard, but as needed we all still take time to pick up the kids, take the dog to the vet, or take a walk to think through a problem.
- Must be able to legally work and also reside in the U.S.
