ABOUT US
At Blenheim Chalcot we use our knowledge, expertise and infrastructure to create an innovation ecosystem which enables our people to turn disruptive ideas into innovative businesses. We originate the ideas ourselves, grow them from the ground up and take them through to exit. We build enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) products, powered by Generative AI and target industries which are exposed to market, regulatory or technology discontinuities. We have built businesses across the following sectors:
- Financial Services
- Education
- Media and Marketing
- Public Services and Health
- Sports
Our track record has seen us build over 60 businesses over the last 25+ years, with portfolio revenues of over £500m, £600m of equity raised into the portfolio and assets under management of £1.8bn.
Blenheim Chalcot has three global locations, London, Mumbai and Austin with over 3,000 employees. Portfolio companies are headquartered from Scale Space, London, our 200,000 ft² collaboration space which was built as a joint venture with Imperial College London. Our Mumbai offices provide unparalleled scaling capability and technical expertise, and our U.S. operation in Austin powers the go-to-market activities of the portfolio across North America.
We are excited about the future opportunity that GenAI technologies present, and believe, given our experience, innovation ecosystem and current market presence, that we are uniquely positioned to take advantage of these opportunities.
IMPACT BEYOND PROFIT
10% of our partnerships and ventures are charities. These include the British Asian Trust, BabyZone and Onside Youth Zones. In the same way that we support our ventures, our Partners provide direct hands-on support to these charities by being active board members and offering expert advice.
The Internship Programme
Blenheim Chalcot is giving students the opportunity to join one of our amazing teams for an 8-week Internship during the Summer of 2025.
Our BC Interns will be placed in one of our portco’s or in a BC central team working across the portfolio. You will be part of a cohort of Interns that will receive exclusive, tailored training sessions through Redteam, our bespoke L&D team.
This opportunity includes:
- Exposure to the BC portfolio – this role is unlike any other Internship programme. As a BC Intern, you will work closely with or be part of one of our portfolio businesses working across a variety of projects, gaining invaluable insights and tangible experience.
- Centre of Gen AI Innovation – The Blenheim Chalcot Centre of Gen AI Innovation is an enabling institution for Blenheim Chalcot and its portfolio companies. It supports our portfolio companies to deliver unique customer value through the application of GenAI and transform the quality and efficiency of their internal operations. As an Intern in the BC portfolio, you will have the opportunity to get involved in the latest cutting-edge technology and help support initiatives to drive the awareness, understanding, and use of GenAI to address business pains and opportunities.
- RedTeam Training: You will be enrolled onto a variety of trainings introducing you to the world of venture building, GenAI, Microsoft Office and our Product Operating Model.
- Mentorship: You will be assigned a mentor for the duration of our internship to help support for day-to-day queries, how to make the most of your internship and helping you build your professional network!
Accountability
In many internship programmes, it can be easy for Interns to swallowed in a big corporate but here at BC we keep innovation and creativity at the heart of what we do, which means we are keen to hear your thoughts!
In a start-up environment, there is no hiding away from getting stuck in. You will gain exposure into how a tech company is built and be supported at a level simply not found in larger, more established firms, whilst taking ownership of work that has a real impact with full transparency on other projects within the venture. Everybody pitches in, no matter your level.
The ideal candidate
We will be looking for candidates coming to the end of their second year of university but are open to other levels of higher education from all disciplines. All we are asking for is that you will:
- Be on track for a 2:1 or higher
- Be available from July 1st for a minimum of 8 weeks
- Be excited by the opportunity GenAI brings!
Are you BC? What We’re Looking For
Regardless of level of experience, here at BC there are a few fundamental values we hold paramount for all team members:
- Curious – people in BC are inquisitive, they want to understand ‘why’ and consider if there is a better approach rather than take on the ‘it’s how we’ve always done it’ perspective. Given our ethos is all about disrupting industries with new methods and products, curiosity is at the heart of what we do.
- ‘Doers’ – surprisingly this isn’t a given in a lot of working environments; we are a community of pro-active self-starters. We will provide full support to our interns but look for people who can use their initiative and drive on a daily basis. Working in an environment where everyone has this trait is incredibly refreshing and we strive to maintain it.
- Flexible Mindset – working in an early-stage environment is ambiguous, diverse and chaotic by definition. Being adaptable and recognising the importance of flexibility to add value in a constantly evolving company is vital for us.
- Passion – you do not need to be a ‘techy’ at heart to work in our environment. What we are looking for though, is people who are passionate about what digital is doing to industries and a thirst to work in a pioneering sector which represents said motive. A passion for doing things new and challenging makes coming into work a whole lot more fun.
- Humble & Sociable – building a tech start-up is never easy. As such, we have a ‘no-ego’ policy and seek out people who bring energy to a team, not drain it. We have a down-to-earth and personable culture, we solve complex problems but don’t take ourselves too seriously and look to have fun whilst doing so.
If you see yourself in this environment and would like to work with similarly minded people, we’d love to hear from you.
How to Apply
If this sounds like something you would love to get stuck into next Summer, fill in the application form below and submit your CV.
If successful, we will then invite you to our office Scale Space in White City for an assessment day in Spring 2025. On the day there will be a variety of group and individual tasks. If you’re successful on the day we will then match you with a company in our portfolio and the internship they have available for you and your interests.
Internship Duration: 8 Weeks
