Product Manager - GenAI-powered / customer obsessive
Overview
The way we build products is changing. GenAI and AI-augmented tools (like ChatGPT, Replit, Cursor, and others) have unlocked a new mode of building—faster, more iterative, and more customer-led than ever before.
As a Product Manager - GenAI-powered / customer obsessive, your role is to identify real customer problems, rapidly validate hypotheses, and use AI tools to pretotype, prototype, and iterate towards value—without needing to write a single line of code.
This role is not about traditional technical product management or managing backlogs for engineers. Instead, it's for individuals who:
- Demonstrate structured, logical, and first-principles thinking.
- Thrive on deep customer discovery and insight generation.
- Leverage AI for rapid prototyping of potential solutions with internal teams and customers.
- Operate with urgency and clarity, iterating fast and course-correcting based on what works.
- Are high-agency, taking ownership and responsibility for end-to-end problem solving.
We’re looking for builders, thinkers, and doers—people who’ve solved problems in the real world, whether by starting companies, launching new products, or working directly with users. You may have been a founder, early-stage operator, consultant, product thinker, or part of an innovation lab.
Key Responsibilities
Customer discovery
- Conduct structured customer interviews and research to uncover deep pain points.
- Use frameworks like 'five whys', 'Cynefin framework', and 'MoSCoW analysis' to shape problem statements.
- Prioritise problems that are worth solving based on user pain, urgency, and potential value.
Pretotyping and prototyping with AI
- Use GenAI and no-code tools to test concepts, design workflows, user journeys, and simulate product behaviour.
- Drive rapid experimentation cycles to validate assumptions with minimal cost and time.
- Propose and test multiple approaches to problems, and compare outcomes to drive next steps.
Data-driven decision making
- Use AI tools to gather insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
- Define and track inputs (leading indicators) and early signals of product-market fit
- Effectively aggregate and present data to validate / invalidate hypotheses.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with PortCo teams, leadership, and engineers / designers to refine solutions.
- Champion a customer-obsessed, product-led mindset.
- Document and codify AI-augmented product building approaches through playbooks etc.
