Your role in our mission
We are looking for a driven and energetic Financial Controller to lead our Controllership function through the next phase of its development. You will be responsible for the Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Financial Control and Treasury activities for Liberis India and other international group entities; reporting to the Group Financial Controller and leading a team of 2.
Your role will be to set the strategy for the future of the Controllership function, coach and develop a highly talented team, engage with the wider business to develop Liberis’s financial control environment and play a key role in delivering functional and business objectives.
What you’ll do
- Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will have direct responsibility and accountability for the “Controllership” function at Liberis India. This includes:
- Leading a team of 2 to deliver Bank Reconciliations, Financial Reporting, Financial Control, and Cash Management activities for multiple entities within the Group.
- Continuing the development of the “Controllership” model within the business; working with your team to set the vision for the function and create the roadmap to deliver the target state.
- Relentlessly drive process improvement within the function, looking to automate processes where possible, simplify operating processes and enhance the robustness of information.
- Developing Financial Controls across the Accounting Team and the wider Business.
- Ensuring delivery of Financial Reporting to the agreed timelines.
- Be the main point of contact for delivery of the Year End reporting and managing relationships with professional advisors and wider global stakeholders.
- Manage the tax requirements for the entity through our third-party partners.
- Support the Group Financial Controller on ad-hoc strategic projects as required to continue to drive process optimisation in India and globally.
- Coach and develop your team to maximise their potential and create a fun and rewarding environment.
About you
- You have demonstrable experience of leading a ‘Controllership’ function, building robust financial control environments and delivering high quality financial reporting.
- You are a leader with a process improvement and can-do mindset that enjoys coaching and developing a high performing team.
- You enjoy taking on responsibility, creating a vision with your team, and building and executing change.
- You will thrive if you are a self-motivated, fast-paced, action oriented, “roll your sleeves up and get-things-done” sort of person who wants to work in a small team where everyone makes a difference.
- You are calm under pressure, can handle changing priorities and are an excellent communicator.
Technical experience required
- Qualified Chartered Accountant. ACCA or CPA is desirable.
- Strong technical accountant with demonstrable knowledge of IFRS accounting standards, financial control frameworks and reporting processes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and implement innovative process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in progressively senior finance roles, including managerial responsibilities; prior exposure to financial services would be an advantage.
