Manager, Learner Operations
Summary
The Manager, Learner Operations is responsible for managing operational execution, performance, and continuous improvement across the end-to-end learner lifecycle, supporting scalable, efficient, and consistent operations from initial inquiry through enrollment, progression, retention, and completion.
Reporting to the Director, Learner Operations, this role leads a team responsible for executing and improving the operational processes, learner data, systems, reporting, and services that enable Marketing, Enrollment, Student Success, Partnership, and Learner Experience teams to deliver strong learner and program outcomes.
The Manager serves as an operational partner across assigned programs, partnerships, and geographies, ensuring effective execution while translating business needs and performance insights into operational actions and process improvements. The role combines operational leadership, lifecycle performance analysis, process design, data governance, systems expertise, and cross-functional collaboration to improve conversion, retention, learner experience, data quality, and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities:

- Partner with Marketing, Enrollment, Student Success, Partnership Strategy, Engagement, Learner Experience, Data & Analytics, and Technology teams to support effective execution, lead generation, lead conversion, and learner performance across the end-to-end learner lifecycle.
- Manage learner lifecycle strategy operational processes, controls, workflows, documentation, and service standards for all assigned regions and programs.
- Manage the execution and testing of enterprise operational infrastructure, including systems, tools, and knowledge management to enable scalable, efficient, high-performing operations across the learner lifecycle.
- Lead and develop a team of operations professionals, establishing clear expectations, priorities, performance standards, and development opportunities while fostering accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and analyze lead generation, lead conversion, and learner performance across the learner lifecycle, partnering with functional leaders to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers and translate insights into actionable recommendations, reporting, and communications that support internal and partner decision-making and improve learner and program outcomes.
- Implement and lead operational readiness for new partnerships, programs, and significant program changes, ensuring processes are efficient and implemented effectively related to process design, systems readiness, documentation, data requirements, reporting, capacity planning for the regions and partnerships supported.
- Support the function in delivering clear, data-driven insights and recommendations to influence strategic decisions and partnership performance.
- Support partner-facing and internal stakeholder discussions, providing clear operational insights, recommendations, issue resolution, and follow-through.
- Manage the implementation of processes for the collection, synthesis, and operationalization of Voice of the Learner insights, connecting learner feedback with program and performance data to identify opportunities to improve acquisition, enrollment, retention, and the learner experience.
- Oversee learner data operations across the learner lifecycle, including the creation, maintenance, validation, transformation, and transfer of information across systems and partners to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable execution.
- Support the delivery of partner-facing performance reporting, ensuring insights are clearly communicated and reflected in materials for key stakeholder engagements.
- Implement the collection and updating of knowledge management across region and partnerships, ensuring information is accurate, current, consistent, accessible, overed, and appropriately structured for use across learner-facing teams, digital experiences, operational systems, and AI-enabled tools.
- Stay abreast of relevant higher education, learner, and market trends, assessing potential impacts and opportunities for assigned programs, partnerships, and operational strategies.
- Support additional initiatives and responsibilities aligned to business needs and organizational priorities.
Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in higher education operations, enrollment management, student services, business operations, or a related field, with experience supporting complex operational processes.
- Experience leading, coaching, or developing employees and driving performance through others.
- Strong understanding of the learner lifecycle, with experience supporting acquisition, enrollment, student progression, retention, or related higher education functions.
- Demonstrated ability to design, manage, improve, document, and standardize operational processes across teams, programs, or partnerships.
- Strong analytical and business acumen, with the ability to interpret operational and performance data, identify trends and root causes, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Experience working with CRM, reporting, workflow, or operational technology platforms. Salesforce experience is preferred.
- Strong data quality and governance orientation, with experience managing or validating information across multiple systems and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational scale.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment and build productive partnerships across functional and technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead complex initiatives in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Experience supporting multiple institutional partnerships, programs, business units, or geographies is preferred.
