Staff Full Stack Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join the Vibe team at Blitz where you will be instrumental in shaping a new platform that enables users to create mods for their favorite games through advanced AI technology and user-friendly tools. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, enjoys being hands-on from the start, and can balance rapid development with scalable, thoughtful solutions. You will be closely collaborating with amazing Product and Engineering teams to consistently deliver top tier solutions that bring immense value to our community of gamers. This position requires all hires to be onsite Monday through Thursday out of our Los Angeles (Playa Vista) office, with the option to WFH on Friday.
 
What You’ll Do
  • Feature Development: Take charge of developing core platform features from the outset, with a focus on our backend API endpoints, as well as accelerating the team to ingest and access our large library of 3D models.
  • Full Stack Architecture: Leverage your full stack experience to establish architectural patterns that enhance the productivity between backend and frontend developers.
  • Best Practices: Lead the team by example with practices that accelerate development and long term maintainability of the codebase in terms of documentation, testing, peer review, and code quality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, designers, and engineering peers to iterate on features, ensuring alignment with the overall product vision and a bias for iterative progress.
What It Takes
  • Expert proficiency with Typescript, Nest.js, React, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud.
  • 6+ years of proven full stack development and the ability to demonstrate high competency with backend architecture, including building out RESTful APIs.
  • A strong blend of technical depth, product intuition, and pragmatic decision-making, with a history of taking products from concept to completion.
  • Growth-oriented, with a desire to achieve ambitious goals, combined with a low ego and a collaborative spirit.
  • Demonstrated passion for startups or early-stage companies.
Nice To Have
  • A keen interest in generative AI, game development, video game mods, or 3D graphics.
  • Previous involvement in the video game industry or an early stage startup.
  • Hands on experience with any of the following: Prisma, Flutter, Expo, Three.js / GLTF, Blender, Pulumi, Next.js, Tailwind, Python
