BlocPower’s Senior Construction Project Manager
The Senior Construction Project Manager (SCPM) will be part of the project execution team focused on completion of construction projects. SCPM will work as part of a team to supervise and audit the installation, construction and commissioning of building projects. The day to day focus will be on quality control, scope adherence, budget and time control. The ideal candidate has a combination of schooling, professional experience, workforce training and is excited to gain more experience working on complex projects.
Summary of Responsibilities
The Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for overall management direction to multiple construction projects (plans, budgets, schedules, organizes, and controls assigned projects). Maintains close contact with clients, monitors construction and financial activities to ensure proper project completion. This position is fully remote, but may require some travel for large, complex projects. The PM should lead by example and uphold the mission and values of BlocPower.

- Oversee and provide guidance on projects to junior Project Managers and staff.
- Work with superintendents and foremen to plan, organize and direct activities
related to construction projects. - Lead and/or assist with estimating potential projects
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within
boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with supervisors
and foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints and
construction problems. - Monitor and control project through administrative direction to ensure project
is completed on schedule and within budget. - Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
- Work with contract administrator to manage financial aspects of contracts to
protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship
with the customer. - Procure supplies and materials to complete project.
Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and
clients. - Update job reports including work progress, costs and scheduling updates.
Work with field operations to assign workers to construction sites to work on specified
projects. - Proactively develop relationships with the subcontractor community.
- Create and maintain project directory.
- Review contracts and become familiar with terms and conditions
- Create and distribute LOI’s and contracts
Procure Certificates of Insurance and permits - Create change orders
- Collect and distribute coordination drawings from appropriate sub-contractors
Review drawings - Pursue and monitor submittals and track material deliveries
- Verify submittal conformity to plans and specifications
- Prepare inspection reports, observations and punch lists indicating project progress
and discrepancies - Prepare project progress and construction stage reports
- Prepare construction estimates, indicating the cost of materials and labor for carrying
out projects
Qualifications
- Must possess a minimum of 12 years of construction management experience or comparable skills in a related field
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively and timely
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
- Ability to read and understand construction project documents
- General knowledge of a variety of trade and craft processes
- Professional and polished in appearance and speech
- Self-motivated, punctual, and dependable
- Able to establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Eager to work in a modernizing construction project execution team, leveraging tools and data to improve quality and accelerate project completion
Travel Expectations:
Regional travel is anticipated 10%
Compensation and Benefits:
Targeted salary: 125k-180k, commensurate with experience and certifications
