Position Description
Bluebird Kids Health is seeking an Operational Excellence Consultant to drive clinical and operational excellence across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operational Excellence, this role will be at the forefront of transforming healthcare delivery, driving innovation, and operational excellence across our organization. You’ll own and execute cross-functional projects spanning process improvement, quality and safety, clinical innovation, and technology enablement. This is a high-impact role for someone who is systems-minded, highly analytical, and energized by building in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about process improvement, can manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and brings a genuine passion for improving healthcare access for underserved children and families.
What You’ll Do
- Work cross-functionally to identify, analyze, and address critical operational challenges, such as bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and quality gaps
- Implement innovative operational solutions such as automation, process re-engineering, and technology enablement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Advance organization-wide safety and quality improvement, from root cause diagnosis through solution implementation
- Lead efforts to achieve and sustain Patient-centered Medical Home (PCMH) designation, including documentation, workflow optimization, and compliance with certification standards
- Design and launch clinical innovation programs in partnership with providers and clinical leadership
- Partner with the Technology and Product Team to design and operationalize proprietary tech innovations
- Leverage approved AI-native tools and platforms to build workflow solutions that are smarter, faster, and more intuitive than conventional approaches
- Define and monitor key performance metrics, analyzing data to inform decisions and measure initiative impact

What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, business administration, industrial engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of professional experience; at least 2 years in health care in operations or management consulting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities, interpret data, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Experience applying operational improvement methodologies with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams
- Exceptional learning agility and a servant leadership mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with AI-native tools and their application in operational workflows is a plus
