How will your role help us transform hope into reality?

Blueprint Medicines International team is looking for a talented Commercial Excellence and Operations Lead to support the launch of Ayvakyt in systemic mastocytosis and Blueprint’s expanding product portfolio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing accurate and insightful commercial forecasts to support strategic decision-making. Also, will be responsible for conducting comprehensive market research to support strategic business decisions. This role requires a deep understanding of market dynamics, data analysis, market research and reforecasting methodologies.  

The role requires a solid knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, ability to collaborate with cross functional teams, both at regional and country level, across a range of commercialization stage topics. This position will partner very closely with Local Operating Company (LOCs) commercial teams and functional teams at an International level. The ideal candidate will display a strong partnership mindset with LOCs, understand and navigate different country environments and show proactivity on addressing key business questions through data analysis. 

 The position will start as a contractor but will have the opportunity to convert to a full-time employee after a fixed period to assess candidate and company fit. The position will be reporting to the International Commercial Operations and Launch Excellence Director, based in Zug, Switzerland.  

 

What will you do?

Sales Planning & Forecasting (50%) 

  •  Lead the development of the regular Latest Estimates (LE), Budgets and annual Long-Range Plan (LRP) forecasts. This work requires collaboration across LOC teams and Global colleagues based in the US 
  • Own, maintain and evolve the regional forecast model (Long & Short-Term)
  • Develop Country sales forecast in close collaboration with country Commercial leads to inform short & long-term financial planning exercises 
  • Collaborate with Int’l cross-functions including commercial, market access, finance, and supply chain to ensure market and product assumptions are appropriately captured into sales targets 
  • Provide monthly updates on International region sales forecast to inform senior management. 
  • Analyze market trends, sales data, and other relevant information to inform forecasting models. 
  • Utilize advanced statistical and analytical tools to create robust forecasting models. 
  • Monitor and report on forecast accuracy, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Support the development of Regional and/or country strategic plans by providing data-driven insights and recommendations. 
  • Conduct scenario analysis to assess the impact of different market conditions on forecast outcomes. 
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in commercial forecasting 

 

Business Analytics & Performance Tracking (30%) 

  • Maintain Ayvakyt Brand KPIs and continuously assess new relevant indicators to monitor brand performance  
  • Development, generation, and distribution of Brand performance dashboards (monthly) 
  • Present analytical findings and insights to senior management and other stakeholders. 
  • Translate complex data into clear and actionable insights. 
  • Train, guide and support LOCs and head office users in the use of performance dashboards and analysis 
  • Proactively leads regional or country ad hoc analyses to answer questions in real-time and anticipates needs of partners across the organization. 
  • Continuously evaluate additional data sources to complement insights and support performance tracking 
  • Production of ad-hoc Data analysis and reports per request of Int’l Commercial and/or LOCs  

 

Market, Customer and Competitive Insight generation (20%) 

  • Design and implement market research studies aimed at generating market and customer insights to inform our international Brand strategy 
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategies. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, product development, and finance to understand research needs and objectives. 
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate research findings to senior management and stakeholders. 
  • Ensure that all market research and insights collection & generation follow internal compliance policies and best practices 
  • Develop and maintain databases of market research information. 
  • Establish an effective competitor activity monitoring & reporting approach incl. supporting tools & systems to collect & disseminate information 
  • Ensure effective integration and communication of competitive insights and develop recommendations for key business stakeholders to support strategic decision making 
  • Coordinate and facilitate systematic collection of CI information at major medical conferences/congresses in collaboration with US teams 
  • Manage ad-hoc requests from key stakeholders. 
  • Manage relationships with external research vendors and consultants 
  • Monitor and report on industry trends, market developments, and competitive activities 

 

 

What minimum qualifications do we require?

  • 3+ Years of relevant experience in biotech/pharma, consulting, and partner agency related roles
  • Proven experience in biotech commercial forecasting and market research at both a country and regional or global level
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, statistical software and forecasting tools a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • English is a must, another EU language would be a plus
