Associate Director, Proteomics
How will your role help us transform hope into reality?
We are seeking an accomplished and driven proteomics scientist to join our team at the Associate Director level. The ideal candidate is an expert in quantitative proteomics with a solid background in mass spectrometry research and a proven track record in advancing drug discovery projects through proteomics. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to drive innovation in proteomics capabilities and strengthening our targeted protein degradation platform. Working closely with computational biology experts, you’ll enhance informatics workflows for comprehensive data capture, analysis, and archiving, enabling in-depth and cross-study analysis.
Desirable experience includes both global and targeted proteomics studies on the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway, characterization of PROTACs or molecular glue degraders, and protein interactome analysis. Experience in ubiquitinomics, affinity- or crosslinking techniques, or proximity labeling-based chemical proteomics is also highly desirable
What will you do?
- As part of the proteomics team you will identify, evaluate, and implement latest technologies and expand internal proteomics capabilities, in alignment with discovery project needs.
- Collaborate with the computational biology team to optimize workflows for data management and in-depth analysis.
- Design, execute, and interpret experiments that address key challenges in our drug discovery initiatives.
- Perform data analysis, share results, and present findings to project and department teams, providing insights and recommendations.
- Explain relevant methodologies, applications, and limitations effectively to colleagues from other scientific disciplines.
- Develop strategies to deepen proteomics integration into drug discovery, enhancing both precision and throughput, taking innovative approaches to address evolving challenges.
- Potential to lead the proteomics team based on people management experience.
What minimum qualifications do we require?
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field with 5+ years of post-graduate experience, or an M.S. degree with 8+ years of research experience.
What additional qualifications will make you a stronger candidate?
- Proteomics Expertise: Solid understanding of proteomics methodologies, including labeled and label-free quantification techniques and post-translational modifications, such as ubiquitination. Hands-on experience in setting up, operating, developing methods, and troubleshooting liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry systems from various instrument vendors. Skilled in sample preparation, data acquisition, and analysis, with proficiency in latest proteomics data analysis software. Experience in targeted protein degradation or ubiquitin-proteasome system biology highly desirable.
- Additional Laboratory Skills: Practical knowledge of cell culture, affinity pull-down or other chemical biology methods preferred but not required. Experience in sample handling automation a plus.
- Drug Discovery Experience: Good understanding of, and passion for the drug discovery process.
- Commitment to Blueprint Medicines’ Core Values: Patients First, Thoughtfulness, Urgency, Trust, Optimism

Blueprint Medicines is a global, fully integrated biopharmaceutical company that invents life-changing medicines. We seek to alleviate human suffering by solving important medical problems in two core focus areas: allergy/inflammation and oncology/hematology. Our approach begins by targeting the root causes of disease, using deep scientific knowledge in our core focus areas and drug discovery expertise across multiple therapeutic modalities. We have a proven track record of success with two approved medicines, including bringing our medicine to patients with systemic mastocytosis (SM) in the U.S. and Europe. Leveraging our established research, development, and commercial capability and infrastructure, we now aim to significantly scale our impact by advancing a broad pipeline of programs ranging from early science to advanced clinical trials in mast cell diseases including SM and chronic urticaria, breast cancer and other solid tumors.
