
Part Time Radiation-Hardened Electronics SETA, TS/SCI
LOE required is 0.75 FTE.
Description:
Candidates with expertise in the design, manufacture, and testing of radiation-hardened electronics sought to support the program managers with specific focus on technical project management and execution. The successful candidate will assess individual technical and programmatic risks, track performer progress relative to plan, project anticipated performer outcomes, and ensure that project management best practices are followed at performers, within the independent verification and validation (IV&V) activities funded by DARPA, and within DARPA itself.
Requirements:
- Prior radiation-hardened electronics and government research experience.
- Knowledge of particle accelerator physics and design, circuit materials, single-event effects, high-energy particle/material interactions, radiation-tolerant circuit design, and long-term material changes is highly beneficial.
- Exemplary candidates will also have demonstrated an ability to learn new subjects and gain rapid insights into current and next generation research topics
Desired capabilities and characteristics
- Doctorate, Master’s Degree with three years, or Bachelor’s and five years of relevant experience with radiation-hardened electronics
- Experience coordinating with foundries, managing workflows, and performing failure analysis
- Experience working with DARPA and coordinating across government teams
- Willingness to commute to Ballston, VA
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral
- Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and respond to quick turn-around requests
- Flexible and readily adaptable to change
Responsibilities:
- Take part in periodic performer assessments to analyze program, technical and schedule risks; develop risk mitigation strategies; communicate findings to program manager
- Technical evaluations and guidance on reports, briefings, and other performer communications
- Presentation and report preparation
- Support further research solicitation and proposal evaluations
- Program administration, including development of technical analyses, identification of technology gaps, technical risk management, project cost estimation, technology transfer efforts, as well as supporting technical reviews.
- Attending and organizing program reviews/site visits/field tests.
