Position: Seasonal Software Intern

Program Duration/Schedule: Our internship cohort will begin early June through early August, 2026. Weekly schedule to work 32 hours, max 36 hours.

Position Type: Temporary, Seasonal, Non-Exempt, Hourly

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the hourly rate for this role is $18.00 to $27.00. The candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location will determine the final compensation for this role.

Location: Downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is not a remote position; our 2026 Seasonal Interns will work on-site in the Bluestaq office.

Housing: Dormitory housing options may be available at a reduced cost for our summer 2026 internship participants ages 18+. Move in date TBD.

Additional Compensation: There is no additional compensation for this position.

Employment Benefits: This position is not eligible for employment benefits such as 401k, Medical, Dental, or Vision Insurance etc. This position is eligible for sick pay as per the Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act (HFWA).

As a Software Development Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience, work with some of the brightest minds in the industry, and have the opportunity to explore a variety of exciting technologies.

We're offering a Seasonal Software Development Internship to undergraduate and master’s students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields. If you're excited about learning, collaboration, and developing real-world solutions, we want you on our team!

What You’ll Do:

At Bluestaq, our interns aren’t just confined to one specific technology stack. You’ll have the chance to explore multiple technologies while contributing to impactful projects. Expect to work with languages and tools like Java, Python, Angular, Groovy, REST Services, Elasticsearch, Jenkins, GIT, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Athena, NiFi, Quarkus, Hadoop, and cloud platforms like Google Cloud, MS Azure, and AWS.

This isn’t just about coding—we're all about growing your skills! You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, learn about data storage solutions, front-end and back-end technologies, and gain exposure to cloud-based infrastructures. We offer the perfect balance of guidance and independence, allowing you to learn while making an impact.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

  • You're currently enrolled in an undergraduate or Master's program.
  • You have experience in software development and scripting languages.

  • You are capable of working in a team-centric environment.

Clearance Requirement: This position requires the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance. To be eligible for a clearance, US Citizenship is required, and an employee must agree to participate in a background screen and credit check.

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
